Automotive Excitement Brings Over 100,000 to 2017 NAIAS as the Show Kicks into High GearJanuary 14, 2017 - The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) announced today that attendance for the kickoff to Public Show was 109,643, an increase of over 2,000 people from the previous year.

'Walking the show floor today was such a memorable time as I witnessed all the smiling faces, both young and old, that experienced the latest-and-greatest in automotive design and technology,' said Sam Slaughter, 2017 NAIAS Chairman.

The kickoff to NAIAS Public Show built off the global buzz generated from the worldwide debuts, executive keynotes and showcase of future mobility innovations. Over 5,100 journalists, plus nearly 40,000 executives, designers and engineers, and nearly 13,000 charitable folks, helped create momentum to draw the big crowds that filled Cobo Center today.

Alongside the over 750 cars on display, a new 'vehicle' made its world debut this morning when Chevrolet, along with students from Detroit's Cody Rouge community, A World in Motion and FIRST LEGO® League, unveiled its life-size LEGO® Batmobile at NAIAS.

Back by popular demand is the NAIAS parade of cars, local stars and some special surprises from The Parade Company, organizers of America's Thanksgiving Parade. From Jan. 14-22 — the NAIAS will feature a parade on the main show floor at 3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. daily. Each parade will feature a host of exotic automobiles, local personalities from television, radio and sports, and even some clowns and special props from The Parade Company.

The auto show continues through Sunday, Jan. 22. Public Show ticket prices are $13 for adults, $7 for seniors and children 7-12 (6 and under free when accompanied by parent or guardian).
