One-Ton Pickup

This 1926 Chevrolet Series X one-ton truck wears a stake body. The Series X was new for 1926 and used passenger car hood, fenders, lights and running gear. The price was listed by Chevrolet as 'upon application' - this example sold for an estimated $550. The engine is a four-cylinder unit that displaces 171 cubic-inches and produces 35 horsepower. Equipment included a three-speed manual sliding gear transmission, floor-mounted gear shift, single-plate dry-disc clutch, semi-floating rear axle, mechanical, external-contracting rear brakes and wooden spoke wheels.
