The 2008 Toro Rosso STR3 was driven by Sébastien Bourdais and Sebastian Vettel. Power was from a Ferrari Type 056 2.4-liter V8 and mated to a Ferrari 7-speed semi-automatic gearbox. The car was first tested by Red Bull junior driver, Brendon Hartley in Italy on April 2nd and publically launched on April 16th at the Circuit de Catalunya, where it was driven by Sébastien Bourdais.For the 2008 season, Toro Rosso raced their updated B specification version of their 2007 STR2 car. The STR3 made its debut at the sixth round of the season, at the Monaco Grand Prix. The car was driven to victory in the Italian Grand Prix by Vettel, this was the team's and Vettel's first victory. The team would finish the season in 6th place in the World Constructors Championship after scoring 39 points.
