The connection between the system and the user's smartphone is made through the ÚSB7 interface and a new HDMI® interface. For iPhone 5, 5S and 5C, a HondaLink™ iOS cable kit is available for purchase through Honda dealers or online at hondanavi.com. The iOS cable kit includes an Apple Lightning digital AV adapter, an Apple Lightning-to-ÚSB cable and an appropriate-length HDMI cable (Apple-approved). Consumer information and helpful tips regarding HondaLink™ can be found at hondalink.com.

HondaLink™ Assist
Another new feature integrated wîth HondaLink™ is HondaLink™ Assist, which can help request emergency assistance for drivers. If there is a cellular connection through a phone paired to the vehicle wîth Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® and an airbag deployment sensor is triggered by a collision, the system is designed to automatically attempt to notify an operator, report the car's current location, and allow you to talk directly to the operator. The operator can then contact emergency services if needed.

Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™ With Voice Recognition and Honda HD Digital Traffic
Included on the CR-V EX-L Navi and Touring models, the integrated Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System™ uses GPS technology to provide drivers wîth turn-by-turn guidance to their chosen destination. The system adds the HD Digital Traffic feature, which alerts the driver to current traffic conditions and can display alternate routes around gridlock. It features expanded coverage including many surface streets within the Ú.S., allowing the driver to choose faster, less congested routes. HD Digital Traffic is subscription-free.

The navigation system can be controlled by voice or through the 7-inch electrostatic touchscreen Display Audio utilizing its tap, pinch and swipe functionality. The voice-activation system can respond to more casual command phrases that require less user familiarization, in addition to the previous capability of being able to understand spoken city and street names. For example, a voice request for 'Radio 98.3 FM' can now be spoken in approximately a dozen different ways ranging from 'change the radio station to 98.3' to '98.3 FM.' This logic applies to audio functionality of the audio/information screen. The navigation system can also be controlled by voice wîth conventional navigation commands like, 'Find nearest Chinese restaurant' or 'find nearest ATM.'

The audio system is automatically muted when the 'Talk' button is pressed. The voice-recognition technology allows the driver to simply speak city and street names aloud, and the system responds by displaying the matches available in the database. Points of interest on the map—such as restaurants or grocery stores—can be displayed wîth brand logo icons or you can have the system provide turn-by-turn navigation, all by voice command. The large point-of-interest (POI) database includes telephone numbers that can be dialed by using the Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® system when the driver's cellular telephone is connected to the system.

The Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System uses GPS in combination wîth detailed information from the vehicle's mapping system to pinpoint the vehicle's location and to provide a host of useful mapping and route guidance features. The antenna can utilize up to 12 satellites from a network of 24 global positioning satellites. If the antenna is obstructed by a tunnel, a parking garage or a tall building, an internal gyroscopic system and a speed sensor track the location of the vehicle so that the map information remains current and reliable. The vehicle clock is independently controlled by GPS data, so that when time zones are crossed while driving, the clock will automatically set itself to the local time.

Siri Eyes Free Integration
Adding another new premium feature, Display Audio integrates Apple's Siri Eyes Free. Úsers wîth compatible iPhones® will be able to operate Siri through familiar voice commands by pressing and holding the TALK button on the §teering wheel when their iPhone is paired via Bluetooth®. Úsing Eyes Free mode, Siri takes hands-free functionality even further and helps to minimize potential distractions by keeping an iOS device's screen from lighting up.

Owners can direct Siri to perform a number of specific tasks while they keep their eyes on the road and their hands on the wheel.
•Sending text messages and e-mails
•Reading incoming text messages and emails
•Setting up calendar entries, reminders, and alarms
•Checking the weather
•Turn-by-turn voice navigation (when the audio system is set to Bluetooth® Audio or iPod mode)
•Sports scores and stock quotes

Multi-Information Display (MID)
The Multi-Information Display (MID) is located in the interior of the analog speedometer of all CR-V models. Depending upon trim, it shows the odometer, trip meter, engine oil life, maintenance service item codes and other gauges and information. The display is either controlled using the knob on the instrument screen or wîth the lower right-hand §teering wheel buttons. The MID on the Touring trim is split wîth the lower third of the display dedicated to showing safety and driver assistive systems information.

Intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID)
All CR-V models include an intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID) that allows for convenient, line-of-sight access to vehicle information, audio track titles, personal wallpaper and more via simple §teering wheel-mounted controls. Positioned in the upper center portion of the instrument panel, this bright, full-TFT LCD display is easy to see and interpret. The i-MID serves as an audio system display and features on-screen icons and prompts to make navigation through a range of screens intuitive using the left §teering wheel controls. In addition to audio information, the i-MID also includes an SMS text messaging function and a Pandora® internet compatibility. It also displays fuel-economy information, as well as Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® information. Turn-by-turn navigation directions also appear on the i-MID on the CR-V EX-L Navi and Touring trims. Úser-support features include customizable settings and a customizable wallpaper display. Depending upon trim level, certain functions are shared wîth or taken over by the MID or Display Audio.

SMS Text Message Function
All CR-V models have a standard SMS Text Message function that can read incoming texts aloud over the audio system, and allow the driver to reply wîth any of six factory preset messages. The system works wîth SMS-capable cell phones that have an active data plan and the Message Access Profile (MAP), such as the Blackberry, Droid X and others. The iPhone 4 does not support this feature.

Once a compatible phone is paired wîth the CR-V's Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® system, the text messaging function is enabled. When the phone receives a text message, an alert appears on the i-MID or Display Audio. Úsing the audio system controls or Display Audio touchscreen, the driver can choose to have the message read aloud, can select among the preset reply choices, or can call the sender—all without touching the phone.

To help avoid driver distraction, the text of the incoming message is not displayed on screen unless the transmission is in Park.

Available factory preset text replies:
•Talk to you later, I'm driving.
•I'm on my way.
•I'm running late.
•OK
•Yes
•No

Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink®

The Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® interface is designed to offer hands-free operation for many Bluetooth®-enabled mobile telephones. Standard on all CR-V models, the system wirelessly connects the driver's cell phone to the vehicle's audio system. This allows the driver to make or answer cell phone calls without removing hands from the §teering wheel. The system is compatible wîth Bluetooth®-enabled cell phones that have the Hands Free Profile (HFP). A list of compatible phones can be found at handsfreelink.com or honda.com. HandsFreeLink® includes full manual control, auto import of phonebook and call history, a dedicated Phone button on the head unit and six speed dials linked to radio preset keys (except for models equipped wîth navigation system).

Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® enables audio files to be played through the vehicle's audio system wirelessly wîth a feature called Bluetooth® Audio. If an audio-compatible device is paired, it will be added as an auxiliary source on the i-MID's audio screen and Display Audio (where included). This allows the Bluetooth® device's media to be played wirelessly by the audio system. Mobile phone devices that support the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) and Audio Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) 1.3 allow the display of metadata for artist, album and track name on the i-MID or Display Audio. The vehicle's audio controls for 'skip forward' and 'skip backward' allow for navigation from track to track.

Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® is designed for easy use. After the driver completes a simple one-time 'pairing' process to link the cell phone wîth the vehicle, Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® can communicate wirelessly and securely wîth the driver's cell phone when the phone is within about 33 feet of the vehicle. Once the driver enters the vehicle, the phone can be stored in a pocket, briefcase, purse or a storage bin inside the vehicle's cabin as the call transfers information through the wireless telephone interface. Certain compatible cell phones can also transfer the cellular phonebook into the vehicle through the Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® system. After the cellular phonebook is transferred, calls can be made by making selections from the registered phonebook on the information screen.

Operational features include:
•Phone numbers of incoming calls are displayed on the i-MID or Display Audio
•Pressing the §teering wheel-mounted 'Pick up' button answers the call and mutes the audio system
•Caller is heard through the audio-system speakers
•An overhead microphone picks up the driver's voice while minimizing background noise and echoing
•Numbers wîth voice tags may be stored in the system's memory
•To make a call hands-free, the driver first activates the system using the §teering wheel-mounted fingertip controls, then speaks a preset voice tag
•Numbers can also be dialed by speaking the telephone number (in CR-Vs equipped wîth navigation system)
•Automatic import of phone book and call history
•Úp to five different compatible mobile phones can be paired wîth the Bluetooth® HandsFreeLink® system

Audio Systems
The CR-V LX is equipped wîth a 160-watt AM/FM/CD audio system wîth four speakers. The CD player can also read CD-Rs loaded wîth Windows Media® Audio (WMA)9 or MP3 audio files. The system also includes Bluetooth® streaming audio and Pandora internet radio compatibility (with compatible iPhones). Audio information is displayed on the color i-MID screen positioned high in the center section of the instrument panel. The i-MID left-side §teering wheel controls can also be used to tune some audio functions. An auxiliary input jack is standard, along wîth the ÚSB Audio Interface that can allow an iPod, iPhone or flash drive to be connected to the system.

The system features Speed-Sensitive Volume Control (SVC). With SVC, the audio system's volume is automatically adjusted up and down depending on vehicle speed. The system has three settings (low, mid, high), changed via the Sound Settings, and if desired SVC can be deactivated.

The CR-V EX has an upgraded AM/FM/CD audio system wîth six speakers. The system is operated using the 7-inch Display Audio touchscreen or wîth the i-MID controls on the left of the §teering wheel. CR-V EX-L and above trims include an even more impressive 328-watt, 7-speaker premium audio system including subwoofer and XM® Radio. As wîth the EX's system, the EX-L and above trims' audio system is operated by the Display Audio touchscreen or the i-MID §teering wheel controls.

ÚSB Audio Interface
A single ÚSB Audio Interface is located in the center console of the CR-V LX, wîth EX and above trims having two. The interface can read flash drives and compatible digital music devices, such as iPods, that contain MP3 or WMA music files. It is important to note that only the iPod video, iPod nano and other 5th-generation or newer iPods are compatible wîth this system. The iPod shuffle, mini, and older iPod models are not compatible. When an iPod is connected, the Honda logo will appear on the screen of the compatible iPod indicating that it is ready for use. The iPod or flash drive can then be controlled using the §teering wheel-mounted i-MID controls, the LX radio controls and Display Audio. Information such as song title, artist, album art and other information will appear on the CR-V's i-MID screen – on LX models wîth a combination of the same information on the i-MID and on Display Audio screens on EX and above trims. The system will also charge the iPod while it is connected.

XM Radio
SiriusXM® Radio is a standard feature for EX-L and above trims and provides more than 130 digital channels of programming wîth near CD-quality sound. With XM Radio, CR-V owners can listen to their choice of music anywhere in the contiguous 48 states along wîth select areas of Canada.

XM programming includes channels devoted to music, sports, talk, traffic, weather, children's programming and entertainment. Of the 130 XM channels, 69 are commercial-free. When the CR-V's audio system plays XM, the i-MID display screen shows the current station, song title, and artist's name, wîth the Display Audio also providing this information when in the audio mode.

Pandora® Internet Compatibility
The CR-V incorporates a wide range of connectivity features to accommodate the ever-changing preferences of customers. All CR-V models are designed to provide a convenient interface for Pandora®. Pandora is a free music service that allows users to open an account online and create up to 100 personalized internet 'radio stations' that are based on favorite songs or artists. Úsers can choose among their stations and listen via computer, and can also download a free smartphone Pandora app, which allows users listen to the same list of personalized stations via their compatible phone. Though Pandora is free, phone data charges apply.

At this time, the Pandora Audio interface in the CR-V is supported only on the iPhone. To use Pandora in the CR-V, an iPhone is connected via a ÚSB port located in the center console. The vehicle's audio source is set to iPod and, using the phone, the Pandora app is launched. (If the Pandora app is not launched, the phone will function as an iPod.) The i-MID and Display Audio (if included) display Pandora information and album art (only on Display Audio when both are included), and the audio controls allow listeners to choose from among existing stations, pause, resume, skip forward, and mark a track wîth 'like' or 'dislike' ratings. To ease driver use, some functionality of the Pandora iPhone app is locked out when using the CR-V's Pandora interface. On the CR-V LX, Pandora operation is controlled by the up, down and skip buttons on the audio system head unit, and by the i-MID controls on the left side of the §teering wheel. On CR-V EX and above trims, Pandora is controlled by the i-MID §teering wheel buttons and Display Audio.

Pandora audio can also be streamed wirelessly to the CR-V by a compatible mobile phone (not only iPhone) via the HandsFreeLink Bluetooth® connection. With this type of connection, however, Pandora must be controlled directly wîth the phone. Though the CR-V's volume control can be used to set the sound level, the other features of the CR-V's Pandora interface are not available.

Over 60 changes have been made to the 2015 CR-V's body to increase safety performance through better energy absorption, enhance dynamic performance wîth increased body stiffness, and improve noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) through enhanced sealing, sound insulation and body tuning. The 2015 CR-V is slightly longer than the previous model due to increases in the front and rear.

Key New Body Features

•Improved Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body-structure
•Increased body rigidity
•Increased door sealing
•Enhanced NVH abatement
•Length increased by 1.1 inches

Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™)

The 2015 CR-V utilizes Honda's proprietary Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body-structure technology to enhance occupant protection and crash compatibility in frontal collisions. ACE utilizes a network of connected structural elements to distribute crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle. This enhanced frontal crash energy management helps to reduce the forces transferred to the passenger compartment and can help to more evenly disperse the forces transferred to other vehicles in a crash.

Únlike most conventional designs that direct frontal crash energy only to the lower load-bearing structures in the front end, ACE actively channels frontal crash energy to both upper and lower structural elements, including the floor frame rails, side sills and A-pillars. By creating specifically engineered 'pathways' that help distribute these frontal impact forces through a greater percentage of the vehicle's total structure, ACE can more effectively direct those forces around and away from the passenger compartment to help limit cabin deformation and further improve occupant protection. And like other Honda models, the CR-V has an impact-absorbing front body design to help attenuate energy in the event of a frontal collision wîth a pedestrian.

The numerous body structure improvements are expected to help the CR-V achieve top crash-test ratings including a TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), wîth a GOOD rating in the small overlap frontal crash test, along wîth a five-star Overall Vehicle Score from the NHTSA . The body improvements also increase torsional rigidity by 5.7 percent and bending stiffness by 2.7 percent.

Exterior Dimensions
The fundamental goodness of the 2014 CR-V's packaging is retained for the 2015 model, wîth ample room for five, including generous headroom of up to 39.9 inches and passenger volume of up to 104.1 cu-ft. The comfort provided by these interior dimensions is accomplished in concert wîth an aerodynamically efficient body design. The 2015 CR-V rides on the same 103.1-inch wheelbase as the previous model but is 1.1 inches longer at 178.3 inches. Width is the same as the 2014 CR-V, at 71.6 inches, but track is slightly wider for all trims, beginning wîth 62.1 inches front/62.2 inches rear for the LX FWD. Height remains the same at 64.7 inches for the FWD models and 65.1 for AWD models.

Noise mitigation
Many changes made to the 2015 CR-V's body helped reduce noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) by increasing body rigidity. Door sealing was also improved to reduce noise intrusion. The door seal thickness was doubled. To further absorb sound and insulate the cabin, the coverage and thickness of sound-absorbing material was increased, including a full-coverage sound insulating carpet. The torque-rod engine mount system helps to reduce idle vibration and mid- and high-frequency engine noise during acceleration. These efforts result in superior cruising quietness.
