The final day of the eighth Cholmondeley Pageant of Power (CPOP) was packed with action in the air, on the water and on the track, the highlight being the final display of the Vulcan over the skies above Cheshire.

The iconic delta wing strategic bomber is in its last flying year – and crowds at CPOP were treated to a full display of incredible action including several dramatic fly-pasts. Action in the air was a hugely popular feature of Sunday with visitors also getting to enjoy the Red Bull Matadors and BAC Strikemaster.

Meanwhile, the concours event - hosted by Cheshire Classic Cars - celebrated Eighties supercars. Immaculate examples taking part included a Ferrari Testarossa, Lamborghini Countach LP500S, Porsche 911 (930) Turbo, Aston Martin V8 Vantage and Lotus Esprit Turbo.

Bringing to life many of the poster cars from Eighties, the concours event was a real highlight. Winner of 'Best Presented' was the 1988 Aston Martin V8 Vantage of Ron Pierson, while 'Best of Show' went to the incredible 1988 Ferrari Testarossa of Keith Ashworth.

Three very special Eighties machines were also picked as the 'Judges' Choices' for the day: the Lotus Esprit of Albert Clements, the BMW 635CSI of Michael Hanson and the Range Rover of David Baker.

As the track action continued for a second day, spectators saw the two-wheeled competitors again top the time sheets, with the Husaberg of Christian Iddon achieving the fastest time of the day of 60.20. The fastest of the four-wheeled vehicles was the Force PC driven by Gary Thomas, with a time of 58.34.

Dougie Lampkin MBE kept the crowds revved up with his showcase of incredible bike control skills across the site. The 12-time world champion trials bike rider even headed on to the water jumping over a pontoon obstacle course on the lake, as well as over bales surrounding the track itself.

James Hall, event director said: 'Today has been a real feast for the senses – I don't think anyone here will ever forget the sight of the Vulcan performing in the skies above Cholmondeley. We're so grateful and proud that its last display over Cheshire has been at CPOP 2015 and I just could not think of a more fitting highlight for the final day of this year's event.

'The standard of cars in our Eighties supercar concours was just phenomenal with some very rare machines bringing to life those posters we all had on our walls. Thanks to the owners and Cheshire Classic Cars for putting on such a spectacle.

'Thanks, of course, to Dougie Lampkin who once again wowed crowds with some nerve-wracking stunts on track and out on the lake. It's been a simply fantastic three days with just the best content we have ever had. Roll on 2016.'
