Pascal Wehrlein (20, Germany): P5 Car number: 94 Team: gooix/Original-Teile Mercedes-AMG ( Mercedes-AMG DTM Team HWA ) Car: gooix Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM 'My start was okay until the first turn, but then I was on the outside and would perhaps have been spun, if I'd not left the door open. That's why I lost a position there. On the whole, I thought that we might perhaps be a bit stronger in the race, but it was only enough for fifth place in the end. Still, I can be pleased with my position in the overall standings.' Paul Di Resta (29, Scotland): P6 Car number: 3 Team: SILBERPFEIL Energy Mercedes-AMG ( Mercedes-AMG DTM Team HWA ) Car: Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM 'A reasonable result. I suppose I have to be happy with points. It's obviously a shame when you qualify fifth on the grid not to move forwards, but I think the pace today in race conditions wasn't quite where it needed to be, unfortunately. Qualifying was good, so, we can leave Oschersleben feeling fairly satisfied with the weekend. Hopefully, we'll do a bit better at the Nürburgring.' Gary Paffett (34, England): P13 Car number: 2 Team: EURONICS/BWT Mercedes-AMG ( Mercedes-AMG DTM Team ART ) Car: EURONICS Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM 'Obviously, starting from P11 was always going to be tricky, plus, I was really unlucky at the start. Molina spun in front of me and I had to go off track into the gravel to avoid him – that's why I lost a lot of positions. Then Mortara locked up and took me out of the race once more. I again lost a lot of positions as a result.' Daniel Juncadella (24, Spain): P15 Car number: 12 Team: PETRONAS Mercedes-AMG ( Mercedes-AMG DTM Team Mücke ) Car: PETRONAS Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM 'I was last after the incidents on the first lap. After that, my pace was really good. I was much quicker than the drivers in front and was able to overtake them. I maintained my pace and was as fast as the race leader at one point. That's why I'm disappointed at not doing better in this morning's qualifying. We still have to analyse what went wrong. There isn't much more you can do when you start from 22nd place on the grid.'Es Robert Wickens (26, Canada): P16 Car number: 6 Team: SILBERPFEIL Energy Mercedes-AMG ( Mercedes-AMG DTM Team HWA ) Car: SILBERPFEIL Energy Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM 'I had a relatively good start and thought I might have a chance at some points. Unfortunately, though, I was hit from behind on one of the laps after the restart. I had too much damage on the car after that. Another weekend to forget. Bring on the Nürburgring!' Lucas Auer (21, Austria): P17 Car number: 22 Team: EURONICS/BWT Mercedes-AMG ( Mercedes-AMG DTM Team ART ) Car: BWT Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM 'Of course, I thought the second race would be very different. I was reasonably satisfied with 17th on the grid, especially since I was able to gain a few places yesterday. But then I was involved in a collision in the very first turn and dropped down to the back of the field. I caught up a little during the race, but unfortunately, I came off the track in the closing stages. We must now analyse what exactly caused it together with the team. The front wheels locked up under braking, leaving me unable to do anything. I'm alright at the moment – the emergency team took great care of me – but we've decided that it's best to give me a thorough check-up in hospital.' Maximilian Götz (29, Germany): P18 Car number: 84 Team: PETRONAS Mercedes-AMG ( Mercedes-AMG DTM Team Mücke ) Car: Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM 'It was a good race up until my pit stop. I was in P14 and my pace had been good. Unfortunately, I then stalled when setting off, which is why I emerged behind Timo Scheider. I thought, though, that things would carry on as they had done before the stop. I had felt great then and had overtaken several cars. Unfortunately, things weren't ideal on the second set of used tyres, and I wasn't able to attack any more, and so, I lost a few places. I had to defend my position against Mike Rockenfeller in the end. That was a tough fight.' Christian Vietoris (26, Germany): P21 Car number: 8 Team: gooix/Original-Teile Mercedes-AMG ( Mercedes-AMG DTM Team HWA ) Car: Original-Teile Mercedes-AMG C 63 DTM 'The day actually started quite well. We made some progress in qualifying, and I felt comfortable in the car. But then in the race, unfortunately, nothing went right from the very first lap. I was just too slow. A weekend to forget.' Ulrich Fritz, Head of Mercedes-AMG DTM: 'That was a disappointing race for us – one we'd already lost at the start. After a solid qualifying, none of our drivers who had qualified in the Top Ten were able to gain position. Oschersleben is a track where it's extremely difficult to overtake. We saw the proof of that again today. Also, two drivers in promising positions – Christian Vietoris and Gary Paffett – lost ground directly as a result of the collision at the start, and their vehicles were so badly damaged that they were off the pace in the race. At least, Pascal Wehrlein was able to extend his lead in the championship. What was also very positive is that Paul Di Resta finished sixth, extending our lead in the team standings.'
