Pinehurst Concours Announces Unique Par 3 Golf Tournament in Conjunction with Vintage Car Showcase

March 18, 2016 by Pinehurst Concours

VILLAGE OF PINEHURST, N.C. (March 16, 2016) – The inaugural Acura Par 3 Challenge golf tournament – with participants shooting for a chance to drive home a luxury vehicle for one year – will take place Friday, April 29 at noon on Pinehurst Resort's Course No. 3, helping kick off the 2016 Pinehurst Concours d'Elegance.

All 18 holes on Course No. 3 will be shortened in length between 140-170 yards. Each hole will offer a specific model of vehicle from Acura, including the RLX, MDX, TLX, ILX and RDX. Acura will provide a one-year lease for any hole-in-one during the tournament rounds.

In addition, a Fort Bragg soldier will be stationed at each hole as a tournament ambassador. The soldier will also get the chance to score a hole-in-one with each foursome that plays through that hole. A portion of the proceeds from the Acura Par 3 Challenge will be donated to the USO of North Carolina, the main charity of the Pinehurst Concours.

'Acura is pleased to be a sponsor for the Pinehurst Concours d' Elegance,' said Susie Rossick, assistant vice president for Honda/Acura regional media and marketing. 'As the Preferred Vehicle of Pinehurst Resort, we are honored to be included among some of the grandest vehicles from around the world. We are excited to add a new event dimension to the Concours with the introduction of the Acura Par 3 Challenge golf tournament, which will offer the golfers as well as the participating soldier ambassadors the opportunity to score a Hole-in-One and drive home in a new Acura.'

Cost of a tournament foursome is $750 or $200 for individual entrants. Prizes will be awarded to the top four finishing teams and additional Closest-To-The-Pin prizes will be offered. Each participant will also receive one ticket to the Pinehurst Concours and Commodores concert on Saturday, April 30.
