BEST MONTH EVER FOR ABARTH AS SALES RISE BY MORE THAN 100 PER CENT FOR MARCH

Abarth continues to power ahead in terms of UK sales, as today's new car registrations figures reveal – showing the best March, and the best month ever, in the UK for the performance brand.

In a fantastic third month of the year, Abarth sold 714 cars – up 104 per cent on the 349 sold in the same period last year.

Year-to-date, the brand's 1027 units was 94.5 per cent up on YTD 2015 (528), as an increasing number of people become owners of cars from Abarth's stunning 595 and 695 ranges, including the incredible 190hp biposto Record.

Market share of 0.14 per cent for March was up from 0.07 per cent for the same period in 2015, according to figures supplied by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

'Last year was an excellent one for Abarth, with September 2015 being our previous best month ever,' says Gerry Southerington, Abarth brand manager. 'We are clearly carrying that momentum on.

'The Abarth range is looking better than ever, and we have lots more exciting product to come, so I am confident that we can keep this current acceleration going.'
