AUBURN, Indiana (April 18, 2016) – With a successful start to its 2016 season in Fort Lauderdale securely under its belt, Auctions America is looking ahead to its Auburn Spring sale, May 5-7. The first of two annual events held at the historic Auburn Auction Park, this year's Auburn Spring weekend will offer more for collectors and enthusiasts than ever before. In addition to all the auction excitement, featuring some 450 cars and select automobilia, the May event will offer a number of new automotive-themed activities for enthusiasts of all ages.

AUCTION EXCITEMENT

The focal point of Auburn Spring is, without question, the multi-day auction. This year's event will feature three sale sessions: a Thursday evening sale, followed by full-day sessions on Friday and Saturday. Once again, enthusiasts will be treated to Auctions America's trademark quality and diversity of product: an eclectic group of vehicles spanning over a century of automotive history and a variety of price points, along with assorted automobilia.

Paying complement to market trends witnessed at Fort Lauderdale, the Auburn Spring docket is highlighted by a fantastic selection of quality American muscle cars. Leading the pack is a rare, highly original 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429. Built by Ford to maintain its edge in NASCAR's Sprint Cup Series, the Boss 429 is recognized by many as the ultimate 'pony car', and arguably one of the rarest and most valuable muscle cars of its time. The example on offer, striking in Grabber Blue, is a rare preservation example and comes to auction just two owners and less than 17,000 miles from new (Est. $250,000 - $260,000). Also set to cross the Auburn stage is an equally eye-catching 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge Ram Air III Hardtop Coupe; finished in Orbit Orange-on-black, it is presented in concours condition and boasts numerous upgraded features, including a four-speed transmission with Safe-T-Track posi-traction rear end, rally steering wheel and Rally II wheels (Est. $95,000 - $110,000).

In addition to individual entries, Auburn Spring will continue Auctions America's strong track record for single-vendor offerings, featuring a number of private collections – offered entirely without reserve. As a special highlight, this year's catalog includes a selection of six vehicles from the personal collection of Wayne Carini, star of Velocity's Chasing Classic Cars. Among highlights of the group, a handsome, CCCA Full Classic 1933 Pierce-Arrow Model 836 Sedan (Est. $70,000 - $90,000); and a stunning sky-blue 1966 Dodge Monaco Two-Door Hardtop, offered without reserve (Est. $15,000 - $20,000). All proceeds for the sale of the Dodge Monaco will benefit the Treasure Coast Autism Porject (TCAP) of Stuart, Florida, a charity chosen by Mr. Carini and dedicated to improving the lives of children living with autism on the Treasure Coast by providing educational opportunities suited to each child's unique academic, therapeutic and social needs.
