Expect to see breathtaking wheel-to-wheel action, thundering air displays, fur and frocks, tweeds and trilbies, style, glitz and glamour, and English eccentricity at its very best, all delivered in true Goodwood style, from 9 to 11 September.

The Revival race programme will this year include a full schedule of 15 races over the weekend, including a completely new Kinrara Trophy race into the dusk on Friday evening, the most glamorous addition to the entry list since 1998.

The St Mary's Trophy will see a full grid of identical 85bhp Austin A35s lined up and raring to go in what is likely to be the most closely fought race in Revival history, and the Lavant Cup will celebrate BMW's centenary with a glorious grid of BMW- and Bristol-engined sports cars.

Special celebrations on the hallowed Goodwood circuit will include track demonstrations in tribute to the life and career of Sir Jack Brabham on the 50th anniversary of his final world championship win, and the 50th anniversary of Formula 1's 'Return to Power' in 1966.

'Life in '66' will feature a parade of 1960s vehicles celebrating the 50th anniversary of England's World Cup win, and the hugely popular Settrington Cup race will return again featuring pedal-powered Austin J40s.

There will be a Goodwood Veterans Tribute, celebrating the life of the circuit and the people who made it great, as well as the beautiful Freddie March Spirit of Aviation concours d'elegance for aircraft manufactured up to 1966, the Best Dressed Competition, a celebration of 70 years of the bikini, vintage fashion on the High Street, and all the fun of the fair Over The Road.

Lord March said: 'The 2016 Revival looks set to be another very special weekend. As ever, the world's finest historic racing cars will gather in West Sussex, and highlights of an exceptional 15-race schedule include the Kinrara Trophy, in which a field of sensational early-1960s GT cars will race into the dusk on Friday evening. It's a new race at the Revival, and should be a fabulous spectacle. At the opposite end of the glamour spectrum, the St Mary's Trophy will see 30 VIP drivers doing battle in identical Austin A35s, in what we expect to be perhaps the most closely-fought race in Goodwood history. To celebrate BMW's Centenary, the Lavant Cup will feature a stunning line-up of BMW-engined sports cars of the 1930s-50s. Popular fixtures like the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy bike race and RAC TT Celebration will provide great entertainment, as will the Settrington Cup, in which the racers of tomorrow do battle in Austin J40 pedal cars.

We'll be paying tribute to the incomparable Sir Jack Brabham, 50 years after he achieved the unique feat of winning the F1 World Championship in a car of his own manufacture, and we'll mark the 50th anniversary of F1's 'Return to Power' with a spectacular display of gorgeous 3-litre Grand Prix cars. Off-track, the event will be engulfed by World Cup fever, as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of England's 1966 triumph. With all the usual set dressing, theatrics and fashion, including the ever popular Best Dressed Competition, plus a celebration of 70 years of the bikini, I think this year's Revival might just be the best yet.'

TV Highlights of the Revival will follow.
