LIVE STREAMING FOR SUNDAY'S BONHAMS VETERAN CAR RUN
November 4, 2016 by London to Brighton Veteran Car Run
For the first time in history, the captivating charm of the annual Bonhams London to Brighton Veteran Car Run supported by Hiscox (6 November) will be streamed live to enthusiasts all around the globe. Whether in Coventry or Cologne, Swindon or Sydney, viewers will be able to tune into YouTube to savour the magical atmosphere as more than 400 pioneering cars from the dawn of motoring participate in this year's pilgrimage from capital to coast. Online observers will be treated not only to live coverage from the Hyde Park start at daybreak on Sunday morning but also as all the intrepid motorists arrive at the finish on Madeira Drive, Brighton later in the day. In addition to some wonderfully evocative footage, the broadcast will feature commentary plus interviews with drivers. This year's participants include former F1 team owners Ross Brawn and Eddie Jordan, and Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason. Coverage from London will commence at 06:30 GMT on Sunday and continues until the last car has headed out towards Buckingham Palace, Westminster Bridge and the Sussex shoreline beyond with a further two hours from Madeira Drive available from mid-day. The live stream will be available on the Veteran Car Run's dedicated YouTube channel at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9nVgjAk7vI. Highlights from Hyde Park will include the ceremonial tearing of the symbolic red flag which has extra significance in 2016 as it's exactly 120 years since the British government passed the Locomotives on the Highway Act. This raised the speed limit for 'light locomotives' from 4mph to 14mph and abolished the need for the vehicles to be preceded by a man carrying a red flag.
