HERSHEY, PA - The Elegance at Hershey recently presented checks to JDRF for $75,000, to the AACA Library for $25,000 and to the AACA Museum for $25,000. This year's check presentation brings the total amount raised for charity through The Elegance at Hershey to more than $850,000 in six years.
The Elegance at Hershey is a three-day weekend event held in June at The Hotel Hershey in Hershey, PA. The annual event features The Grand Ascent (a two-day vintage hill climb), a world-class auto auction, Cars & Coffee, Saturday evening's Gala and the Concours d'Elegance on Sunday. The Concours features 75 of the world's finest collector cars artfully arranged in The Hotel Hershey's formal gardens.
'With the generous help from our sponsors, donors and patrons, we are pleased to again make these significant contributions to our beneficiaries,' noted Michael Rich, Chairman of The Elegance at Hershey Board. 'By combining the very finest in cars with very worthwhile causes, we have established The Elegance as a major national philanthropic event.' Mr. Rich's father, Jack Rich, was instrumental in founding The Elegance at Hershey in 2010.
'The Central Pennsylvania Chapter of JDRF is forever grateful to The Elegance at Hershey for its continued efforts to help us to turn type one into type None! 'Our AACA Library & Research Center is a free public library,' noted Steve Moskowitz, Executive Director of the AACA. 'The contribution from The Elegance at Hershey is a significant donation for our cause. We provide a benefit to historians world-wide and this funding helps us in our mission to educate people about our automotive past. On behalf of the board of directors of AACA, we sincerely thank The Elegance at Hershey for their generosity.'
'The AACA Museum is honored and grateful to receive this donation from The Elegance at Hershey,' stated Hank W. Hallowell, President of the AACA Museum Board. 'The AACA Museum is dedicated to the preservation and presentation of motor vehicles and their history. The Elegance at Hershey event, along with the funds donated each year, help us to raise awareness of the importance of maintaining these vehicles for future generations. We sincerely thank The Elegance at Hershey for its continued support and look forward to the upcoming show in 2017.'
