Power & Associates 2017 U.S. Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) awards. The Honda CR-V took the top spot in the compact SUV category and the Ridgeline capped the midsize pickup segment. Jumping multiple positions this year, the Honda brand ranked second overall as the top ranked full-line manufacturer in the 2017 APEAL Study Rankings – Non-Premium Nameplates category. The J.D. Power & Associates 2017 APEAL Study measures a vehicle's overall appeal using feedback from owners on their emotional attachment and excitement across 77 attributes, ranging from comfort and feeling of luxury to the sensation of power.
