FRENCH AMBASSADOR TO THE UK TAKES DELIVERY OF A TOP-SPECIFICATION FIRST UK PETROL MODEL OF DS 7 CROSSBACK AS OFFICIAL FRENCH EMBASSY CAR

•Jean-Pierre Jouyet, French Ambassador to the UK is the first to take delivery of a DS 7 CROSSBACK with the new PureTech 225hp petrol engine for official French Embassy duties

His Excellency, Jean-Pierre Jouyet, Ambassador of France to the United Kingdom, met with Alain Descat, Managing Director DS Automobiles UK for the arrival of the new official French Embassy car - DS 7 CROSSBACK Ultra Prestige – a top-specification flagship model with the latest PureTech 225hp petrol engine.

The French Embassy DS 7 CROSSBACK car was specially chosen for official duties and as the transportation for the Ambassador of France to the UK primarily for its alluring presence, French automotive savoir-faire and for its sector-unique features, like the DS Active Scan suspension for optimised ride comfort.

Conscious of the environmental impact, the French Embassy was also mindful to select this SUV by DS as it combines impressive performance, an eight-speed fast-changing automatic transmission and sector-leading low emissions, while being particularly well-proportioned for chauffeuring duties, featuring motorised rear-seat recline adjustment, air conditioned seats and a plush interior inspired by the world of Haute Couture.

Features that also make the DS 7 CROSSBACK a perfect official Embassy car include; DS Active LED Vision – directional headlamps that move to enhance driving illumination with a unique reveal sequence that has three LEDs rotate 1800 on opening the car for a genuinely attractive and uniquely engaging moment.

French President Emmanuel Macron was inaugurated a year ago and was the first to be seen in public that day in DS 7 CROSSBACK – at the time well ahead of it being available for sale.

Deliveries for DS 7 CROSSBACK in the UK have recently started, initially with the BlueHDi diesel-powered engines and follow soon with the highly efficient PureTech petrol engine, initially available with 225hp and soon after with the 180hp version. Autumn 2019 sees the arrival of DS 7 CROSSBACK E-TENSE 4x4 - fitted with a hybrid (petrol-electric) drivetrain, four-wheel drive, 300hp and a 30-mile driving range in zero emission mode (in WLTP Drive Cycle conditions).

Starting with DS 7 CROSSBACK, all future DS models will have electrified versions. This is why DS Automobiles will be proud to present its first 100% electric DS model at the forthcoming 2018 Paris Motor Show. Following on from this momentum, starting in 2025, every new DS model will be available only in electrified versions (either hybrid or 100% electric, or both).

Features of DS 7 CROSSBACK in Ultra Prestige include 20-inch TOKYO alloy wheels, electric opening panoramic sunroof, FOCAL Electra® HiFi system, DS Inspiration Opéra, DS Connected pilot – for adaptive cruise control and Stop & Go, with lane keeping assist (provides semi-autonomous driving). It is also equipped as standard with DS Active Scan Suspension, to minimise the ride over road imperfections (and potholes), has the Advanced Safety Pack, a B.R.M R180 (1800 rotating on starting) timepiece and crystal roller controls.
