Vauxhall Debuts Next-Generation Infotainment Systems On Insignia

•Navigation and connected services including live traffic, real-time fuel prices and map updates

Luton – Vauxhall is preparing for its next phase of connectivity and in-car entertainment by launching a new generation of infotainment systems. The new Multimedia and Multimedia Navi Pro systems will make their debut later this year, in Vauxhall's flagship Insignia model range.

The new Multimedia and Multimedia Navi Pro infotainment systems are not only state-of-the-art in terms of functionality, but also stylish and intuitive to use. The Multimedia comes with an eight-inch high-resolution colour touchscreen and clearly-arranged Driver Information Cluster. This can be further enhanced with an optional head-up display with the Multimedia Navi Pro. Drivers and passengers can connect their phone via Bluetooth or USB, or through phone integration such as Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, with the ability to pair two phones simultaneously.

Live Traffic pulls travel information from multiple sources when paired with a smartphone, allowing traffic flow and driving conditions to be updated in near real-time. Additionally, Live Traffic shows which parts of the route are affected by delays and what kind of incident may be the cause. This provides more accurate and timely alerts as well as improved navigation routing.

The new design of the Multimedia and Multimedia Navi Pro is even easier to use thanks to its intuitive layout, with direct access to main domains such as audio, phone and navigation via the home screen. The tablet-like controls and swipe-gestures only further simplify use, while the driver is able to operate the infotainment system via controls on the steering wheel. Additionally, the Multimedia Navi Pro system can be operated by voice control.

The Multimedia Navi Pro infotainment system offers personalisation through user profiles, with up to five drivers able to define their own profiles. The profiles allow users to save numerous adjustments from climate-control settings, to their preferred equalisation for the speaker system. Favourite destinations, playlists and points of interests are all stored according to the personalised profile, enabling the driver to concentrate on their journey.

The new Multimedia and Multimedia Navi Pro systems will be available in the Insignia model range later this year, and will be rolled-out to additional models in 2019.
