Suzuki Motor Corporation is very pleased to announce that the recently launched Jimny has made it as a semi-finalist in not just one but three separate judging categories in the 2019 World Car Awards.
The next round of judging commences in the near future to determine the final shortlist in each category and these will be announced on March 5th at the Geneva Motor Show.
Mike Rutherford, World Car Awards Programme Juror, Executive Director and Co-Chairman comments 'Suzuki has again seen off many rival manufacturers from all corners of the globe to become a 2019 World Car finalist – this time with its all-new Jimny.
This is a Company that produces some of the finest small cars on the market, and it may yet go on to lift a trophy or three at the New York International Motor Show in April'
The new Jimny was first launched in the Japanese domestic market in the Summer of 2018, unveiled for Europe at the Frankfurt Motor Show last September and went on sale in the UK at the beginning of this year.
Jimny is powered by a 101PS 1.5-litre petrol engine and is fitted with ALLGRIP PRO selectable four wheel drive with low transfer gear as standard equipment.

Following the top three successes for Ignis in 2017 and Swift in 2018 in the World Urban Car Category; the new Jimny has made it through the first round of votes and into the top Five for World Urban Car, top Five for World Car Design as well as into the top 10 for overall World Car of The Year.
Jimny offers the latest in safety technology as standard with Dual Sensor Brake Support (DSBS) Lane Departure Warning, and Weaving Alert. Air conditioning, Auto Headlights with High Beam Assist, front foglamps and Bluetooth connectivity are also fitted as standard equipment.
