Podium Finishes For The McLaren 720S GT3 And 570S GT4 During British GT Round At Donington Park

•The McLaren 720S GT3 of Balfe Motorsport returned to the podium to secure second place in Round 6 of the British GT championship at Donington Park
•Double McLaren 570S GT4 podium as Customer Racing teams HHC Motorsport and Tolman Motorsport continue the fight for the British GT GT4 Teams Championship
The McLaren 720S GT3 and 570S GT4 were in action with Customer Racing teams in the UK and Japan over the weekend, with both models scoring podium finishes at Donington Park for the British GT championship while the Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia series visited Suzuka International Circuit.
In the UK, honours were split across the three Customer Teams, with each claiming a podium place at the end of the two-hour endurance race across the GT3 and GT4 championships. The #22 720S GT3 of Balfe Motorsport with Shaun Balfe and McLaren Factory Driver Rob Bell combined to finish second overall, remaining in close contention and battling for the win throughout the duration of the race.
Meanwhile, in the GT4 ranks, the 570S GT4 achieved a double podium, headlined by a second-place finish from the #57 HHC Motorsport example driven by Dean Macdonald and Callum Pointon. Late drama saw Tolman Motorsport benefit as McLaren Automotive Driver Development Programme duo Lewis Proctor and Jordan Collard took third place and the final step on the podium.
Balfe Motorsport successfully brought both of its 570S GT4s home, with the #20 ProAm entry of Graham Johnson and Michael O'Brien taking eighth overall, fourth in class, just ahead of the second HHC Motorsport entry of Tom Jackson and Luke Williams in ninth. The Balfe Motorsport #21 of Stewart Proctor and Mia Flewitt crossed the line to take the top honours in the Am class, and 15th place overall.
In Japan, the Blancpain GT World Challenge Asia series made its first of back-to-back visits to Japan for round six of the season, at the Suzuka International Circuit. McLaren Customer Racing team ABSSA Motorsport raced the 720S GT3 with drivers Keita Sawa and Piti Bhirombhakdi against a grid of 28 cars. The ProAm pairing finished fourth and sixth in class during the weekend's two races.
