Atlanta Concours d'Elegance Foundation Joins The Party – 'Joining Hearts 32 – Celebrate'
July 10, 2019 by Atlanta Concours d'EleganceJuly's Largest Annual Atlanta Community Event Expands its Own Culture to Include Automotive Diversity ATLANTA – July 10, 2019 – For 2019, the Atlanta Concours d'Elegance Foundation embraces non-profit Joining Hearts, while expanding itself within the Atlanta community -- where diversity is less about differences and more about coming together. Partaking in this year's 'Joining Hearts 32 – Celebrate,' the Atlanta Concours will be front and center during the July 20th event at Piedmont Park Greystone & Aquatic Center in Atlanta, displaying vehicles from three separate generations that bring together historic significance and a reminder that culture is to be shared. In its 32nd year, Joining Hearts has a mission to raise awareness and funds to support prevention, care, and housing assistance to those impacted by HIV/AIDS within the metro Atlanta area -- and to date has raised more than $2.5 million through a strictly volunteer organizational effort. This year's event and 'celebrate' theme brings attention to the enjoyment so many can share together, while still caring deeply for those in crisis. According to Jerry Peters, president of Joining Hearts, ever since the founding of the organization in 1987, the group has been the voice of those in Atlanta that can't always speak about a subject that in the past was often taboo. 'We provide assistance to those in need,' said Peters. 'And the thousands we've assisted were not simply within the gay community – in fact, the growing rate of women of African American and Latino descent diagnosed as HIV positive here in Atlanta continues to grow – and we make sure that ALL our proceeds are used to support EVERYONE in need that we can.' Peters says that the amount of in-kind and financial sponsors from the community has substantially grown each year, and the Atlanta Concours involvement brings a welcome addition that complements an audience of high-end donors, patrons and attendees. Three distinct Concours vehicles will be showcased at the event's entry, including cars from the Brass Era, Pre-War and even a 1950s Woodie – all that represent diverse time periods of history, yet bring commonality through their beauty and unique traits. The 7-hour event at the Aquatic Center (located at 1491 Piedmont Avenue NE, Atlanta) anticipates an audience of 1,000 attendees, and will run from 4pm – 10:30pm, with three separate levels of experiences – General Admission ($120/ea), VIP ($230/ea) and Ultra VIP ($2,500/ea – and includes a poolside cabana). All attendees will enjoy food by 'Sun in My Belly' and a full fireworks display, with entertainment by superstar Rick Braile and an opening set by Andres Vergel. Joining Hearts isn't just about a party or an event; it's a lifesaver and a tribute to life. ABOUT JOINING HEARTS
