Seven drivers from the Renault UK Clio Cup will contest this weekend's (26-28 July) international Clio Cup Open fixture at the German Formula 1 Grand Prix at Hockenheim. Among them, UK title contender Jack Young will aim to make it two Open wins out of two…
They will be on a grid of more than 30 drivers representing Clio Cup championships from across Europe.
In June, Young dominated the Clio Cup Open's two races at Paul Ricard's French Grand Prix – winning both by over 20 seconds.
Brett Lidsey and both Colburns were also front-runners throughout with Ben going to on to join Young on the podium with a fine third place result…
Just as in France, once their racing in Germany is done the teams will load the cars away and head back home – a drive of around 600 miles – in time to prepare for their next UK Clio Cup rounds the following weekend (Sat 3/Sun 4 August) at Snetterton in Norfolk.

Young (Belfast) will be joined at Hockenheim by MRM team-mates and brothers Brett and Tyler Lidsey (Northfleet), Westbourne Motorsport trio Ben and James Colburn (Worthing and also brothers) and Aaron Thompson (Lutterworth), plus Specialized Motorsport's Luke Warr (Sudbury).
The on-track action at Hockenheim this weekend begins with a free practice session late on Friday (18:05-18:35). Timed qualifying (10:50-11:20) and the first of the two 25-minute +1 lap races (18:00) follow on Saturday. Race two is on Sunday (09:30).
