2020 Highlander Makes Appearance At The Miami International Auto Show

MIAMI (November 1, 2019) – The next-generation, three-row 2020 Toyota Highlander will make its southeast debut during the Miami International Auto Show held November 1-10 at the Miami Beach Convention Center. The 2020 Highlander, which was revealed at the New York International Auto Show, brings a new level of bold, distinctive design to a foundation built on safety, comfort, quality, durability and reliability set by its predecessors.

Arriving in Toyota dealerships this winter, the Highlander Gas model will be available before the end of 2019 and the Highlander Hybrid will make its way to customers in the first quarter of 2020. The 2020 GR Supra and 2020 Corolla, among other Toyota vehicles, will also be on the show floor.

2020 Highlander

Just as the first RAV4 launched the compact crossover SUV segment 22 years ago, the original Highlander redefined the midsize family SUV when it arrived in 2001. At a time when most midsize SUVs were truck-based, the Highlander's unibody structure with four-wheel independent suspension quickly became the template for a new segment of more comfortable and family-friendly SUVs. After adding a third row, the Highlander not only grew in size, but has also been the best-selling retail model in the segment since 2016.

The 2020 Highlander's new sophisticated look covers a new vehicle platform called Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA-K). This robust new foundation, shared with other Toyota models, enables even greater capability, comfort and safety than before. The fourth-generation Highlander offers the choice between a powerful V6 or new-generation hybrid powertrain, with the gas version offering a manufacturer-estimated 22 MPG combined fuel economy and the Hybrid offering a manufacturer-estimated 34 MPG combined fuel economy.

The new-generation Toyota Hybrid System in the 2020 Highlander Hybrid combines a high-efficiency 2.5-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine with two electric motors in a system that's more compact and more efficient than before. The gas engine employs Variable Valve Timing-intelligent system by Electric motor (VVT-iE) on the intake camshaft, and VVT-i on the exhaust camshaft. A variable cooling system (electric water pump, electric thermostat) and a fully variable oil pump further improve engine efficiency.

Available in five grades, the Highlander starts with a new L grade, then layers amenities and technology in the LE, XLE, Limited and the top-of-line Platinum. The Highlander offers cutting-edge entertainment and connectivity for all ages through its intuitive and versatile multimedia system, including a new 12.3-inch touchscreen display on the Platinum grade and 8-inch on the other models. The available new JBL Premium Sound System delivers a whopping 1,200 watts of power to turn any music source into a mobile concert.

2020 GR Supra

More than 20 years in the making, the 2020 Supra is the first global Toyota GAZOO Racing model. It is a fully forward-looking sports car, brimming with a cutting-edge powertrain, chassis and multimedia technology. Like the pinnacle of the previous Supra series, the 2020 model is powered by a turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine. Toyota projects 0-60 MPH acceleration in 4.1 seconds, which makes this the quickest Toyota-branded production vehicle ever.

Available in both Normal and Sport driving modes, the 2020 Supra is ready for any adventure. Sport mode sharpens throttle response, increases steering weight and improves transmission shift crispness. With the 2020 Supra, drivers of all skill levels will be rewarded with a thrilling sports car feel even in everyday driving.

2020 Corolla Sedan and First-Ever Corolla Hybrid

Forty-six million Toyota Corollas have been sold globally since the vehicle's introduction in 1966. The 2020 Corolla sedan's bold new look features a bumper-to-bumper, wheels-to-roof transformation. Built upon the new TNGA platform, the Corolla Sedan's engine produces more power than its predecessor with better fuel efficiency. As a part of Toyota's commitment to driver and passenger safety, the 2020 Corolla Sedan has Toyota Safety Sense 2.0, which is standard on every Corolla Sedan model.

With its total transformation, the 2020 Toyota Corolla was already big news in sedans for 2019. And now comes the ultimate 'But wait, there's more!' bonus: a new hybrid model that achieves an EPA-estimated 52 MPG combined fuel economy. That makes the 2020 Corolla Hybrid the most fuel-efficient model to ever wear the model name that debuted more than a half-century ago.

Show Floor Experiences & Programs

In addition to seeing Toyota's full vehicle lineup of cars, trucks and SUVs, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a virtual reality experience – Toyota's TSS 2.0 VR In-Car Experience. Guests can also experiment with all the latest technologies of the new Avalon as part of the Avalon 'Tech Zone' – an interactive area that demonstrates the seamless connectivity with mobile devices thanks to Avalon's standard Apple CarPlay compatibility and Amazon Alexa + Toyota in-car technology.
