LONDON (9 January 2020) – RM Sotheby's is delighted to announce additional cars from the much-buzzed-about Youngtimer Collection, set for Place Vauban at the company's seventh annual Paris sale on 5 February. The auction house presented more than 150 cars from the single-owner collection across its Paris, Amelia Island, Fort Lauderdale, Essen, and London auctions in 2019, and will now offer an exceptional selection of 11 cars from the group in Paris, once again highlighted by modern classics from standout European, British, and Japanese marques.

Leading the group is arguably the most desirable 8 series BMW, a 1993 BMW Alpina B12 5.7 Coupé. One of just 57 examples produced, the B12 5.7 is recognizable for its trademark Alpina multi-spoke alloy wheels and body kit featuring a carbon-fiber louvred bonnet with a central NACA. With a power output of 412 bhp and a resulting top speed just shy of 300 km/h, the car on offer is even more desirable, fitted with the Getrag six-speed manual gearbox instead of the semi-automatic option. Showing less than 9,000 km, it presents in very fine condition throughout (Est. €300,000 - €350,000).

Joining the European contingency from the Youngtimer Collection is a 2008 Spyker C8 Laviolette, a car that has only continued to increase in desirability. With a power-to-weight ratio approaching that of a Ferrari F430 and concept-car-like visual impact, the Spyker offers an old-school supercar driving experience with space-age aesthetics. The example set for Paris was a factory demonstrator, presented in Silver with Tropicana Orange trim and features a host of desirable extras (Est. €200,000 - €250,000). Additional European offerings including a 1998 Mercedes-Benz SL 70 AMG, upgraded to a 7.0-litre specification AMG V-12 engine boasting 500 bhp (Est. €150,000 - €200,000), a 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560 SEL AMG—an original, pre-merger AMG upgraded 6.0-litre 32v DOHC 'Hammer' in stunning Anthracite Grey Metallic (Est. €100,000 - €140,000), a 1991 Mercedes-Benz 300 CE AMG 3.4 (Est. €80,000 - €120,000), a 1987 BMW M6 (Est. €80,000 - €90,000), and a 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450 SEL 6.9 (Est. €80,000 - €90,000).

The British group within the Youngtimer Collection offering is led by a 2007 Aston Martin Vanquish S, one of the last examples to have rolled off the Newport Pagnell factory line before its closure. Converted to desirable manual transmission by Aston Martin Works, the car on offer is finished in gorgeous Onyx Black over Obsidian Black and shows less than 20,000 km (Est. €130,000 - €160,000). Other British models coming to Paris include a 1997 Bentley Turbo RT Mulliner, one of only 55 produced (Est. €90,000 - €110,000), and a 2007 Bentley Arnage T (Est. €60,000 - €80,000).
Finally, the Paris grouping includes a singular Japanese car, a 2017 Nissan GT-R NISMO, the most desirable variant of the modern GT-R. Offered from its first and only owner, the NISMO on offer is a fully optioned, as-new example. This is a truly incredible performance car able to compete with the very best track-focused specials (Est. €140,000 - €160,000).

'Following the incredible collector interest and the success of the Youngtimer Collection across our 2019 sales, we're excited to bring another great group of desirable, beautifully maintained, and low-mileage modern classics to the Paris auction,' comments Gord Duff, Global Head of Auctions, RM Sotheby's. 'The B12 5.7 is a standout car at the top of every modern classic collector's list, and this example checks absolutely every box with its six-speed manual transmission, low-mileage, and sharp Alpina Blue color. The Spyker is another car seldom seen at auction and that collectors are really starting to take notice of, quickly making it a staple modern-day collectible in its own right.'

The cars from the Youngtimer Collection are presented amongst more than 75 motor cars spanning 100 years of automotive history and representing all areas of collecting at RM Sotheby's Paris sale, alongside a selection of important automotive memorabilia.

RM Sotheby's Paris auction is set for 5 February at Place Vauban, immediately following the Festival Automobile International (29 January - 2 February).
