Robins & Day Opens First Distrigo Parts Hub To Include Vauxhall

February 13, 2020 by Groupe PSA

Robins & Day, the PSA owned dealer group has opened its first 'new generation' Distrigo Parts Hub in Hayes, West London. This is a relocation and expansion of the previous Slough site, the largest within the group, already exceeding £35m annual sales.

The move is required as PSA add Vauxhall into its Distrigo Parts Distribution network from May 2020, with the withdrawal of direct parts supply from Vauxhall Dealers.

The investment in Hayes, in a brand new 45,000 sq ft facility is the first of the five Robins & Day Parts Hubs to relocate. Work is underway now fitting out new sites in Bristol & Derby, with Birmingham and Manchester following in the spring.

These Hubs will now also supply Vauxhall Parts, as well as the existing manufacturer ranges for Peugeot, Citroen and DS vehicles, the group's Eurorepar all-makes range, and Supplier brand parts ranges.

Fitted out with brand new racking and material handling equipment, the breadth of stock is increasing ultimately to c. 45,000 lines at Hayes thus improving service availability rates to all customers. The operation will operate 24 hours per day, growing its staff base from 55 to 80 people, with a fleet of 35 fully tracked delivery vehicles.

Simon Tarrant, Robins & Day Aftersales Director says 'This is a clear opportunity to further grow our Parts Trade business with the full PSA Parts Product ranges – not just to large bodyshops, but independent repairers too, that can benefit from multi-brand products and 1 hour motorcycle delivery. '

Adding 'and delivering excellent availability and service levels to the PSA brands Authorised Repairers and and Eurorepar Car Services garages is essential to us – overall we project doubling our Parts sales from 2019 to 2022.'

Robins & Day Chief Executive James Weston quotes 'Parts distribution has become an increasingly important part of our business model. Our scale allows us to deliver exceptional customer service, and we see the addition of Vauxhall as an exciting growth opportunity, and a chance to increase our level of innovation in this area.'
