A limited-run track-focused 2004 Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale has sold for $252,500, signifying the first official auction sale for the newly launched U.S. operations of global digital auction platform Collecting Cars.

'This precedent-establishing U.S. sale exemplifies the type of consistent auction success we have had internationally over the past two years,' stated Collecting Cars Founder & CEO Edward Lovett. 'We are delighted for both the buyer and seller and look forward to demonstrate the power of our platform to American-based automotive aficionados.'

The stunning red Italian exotic is powered by a 3.6-litre 'Tipo F131' naturally aspirated V8, which produces 425hp at 8,500rpm, coupled to a six-speed 'F1' automated transmission with paddle shift. Recently refurbished by Ai Design, this Ferrari is finished in Rosso Scuderia with a factory applied NART racing stripe, coupling with an interior trimmed in red and black Alcantara.

That first-ever auction sale on the Collecting Cars U.S. platform came approximately 48 hours after two other significant global sales on the Collecting Cars platform, which boasts bidders from 90+ countries around the world. With furiously paced final-day bidding from the U.S., United Kingdom, Europe and the Middle East, a 1990 Porsche 911 Brooklyn Edition by Singer finished at a hammer-down price of $921,000. That sale capped a seven-day auction cycle which featured over 25,000 auction views from 113 different countries.

That sale was accompanied by the $676,000 auction of a 2015 Ferrari 458 Speciale Aptera that had bids around the world including the United Kingdom, multiple countries in Europe and Asia.

The new auction week begins with four additions to the Collecting Cars U.S. auction platform:
