Kicking off a series of online auctions hosted by RM Sotheby's, Sand Lots features beach-ready cars just in time for summer! With bidding now open, this globally-sourced and time-based online auction will offer a variety of cars that are ideal for getting you and your gear to the beach—with some beach gear being offered as well.

Believed to be the only one of its kind, this 1977 AMC AM Van Concept has been preserved in a well-known concept-car collection for the past 35 years and remains in original condition, just as it left the AMC design studio in 1977. Given its compelling design and historical significance, it has been featured as the centerpiece of multiple museums in recent years, including the Gilmore Museum and the AMC display at the Kenosha County Historical Society. This AM Van design study represents a rare opportunity for a private collector or museum to own a historically significant concept car from one of the most storied American automakers (Estimate: $50,000 - $60,000).

With seating for nine, this 1973 Volkswagen Type 2 '23-Window' Conversion will get you to the beach in style. A recently completed conversion using a 1973 Brazilian Tipo 231 Kombi, this example is finished in an appealing two-tone combination of Piano Black over Lotus White with a stunning red interior and is concours-quality. Featuring a split 'safari' windshield, two sets of pop-out windows per side, a fully retractable ragtop sunroof, and double cargo side doors, this '23-Window' Conversion is a compelling tribute to the highly sought-after Type 2 Samba '23-Window' (Estimate: $80,000 - $100,000).

Finished in Sky Blue over a custom interior with gray marine-grade upholstery featuring blue stitching, this 1990 Mercedes-Benz 250 GD 'Wolf' has been fully refurbished cosmetically and mechanically, completed in early 2021, and features heated seats, lifted suspension, black, steel wheels with BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A tires, front brush guard, roll bars, rear-mounted jerry can, full-size spare, front and rear bucket seats, and an aftermarket Bluetooth-enabled stereo. It is a tastefully modern twist on the venerable and timeless G-Class, executed to high standards and ready for any adventure, urban or overland (Estimate: $120,000 - $135,000).

A rare, French-exported, open-top cabriolet, this 1963 Messerschmitt KR 200 Cabriolet is one of the most celebrated microcars and boasts unique features such as KR 175-type handlebars and French-specification, yellow-tinted headlights. Equipped with reversing starter motor allowing the four-speed manual transmission to operate all four speeds in reverse if needed, this example was on display at The Bruce Weiner Microcar Museum until 2013 and is estimated at $48,000 - $58,000.

A cherished early-production example of the pioneering American 'dune buggy' this 1966 Meyers Manx is said to be one of the earliest 'pre-tag' Manx 1 bodies known, and one of the first 200 Meyers Manx Buggies manufactured. Presented in Lime Green gel coat finish over black upholstery, this example is built upon an original 1959 Volkswagen Beetle chassis and features the steering wheel, speedometer, and rear lighting from the Beetle (Estimate: $40,000 - $50,000).
