• Over 100,000 visitors expected at VW Bus Festival in Hannover from 23 to 25 June 2023
•Showground car parks to become VW Bus camp for over 6,000 vehicles
The countdown has begun: Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles' VW Bus Festival 2023 opens in 343 days! It will be the biggest meet of its kind anywhere in the world: from 23 to 25 June 2023, organisers Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles are expecting over 100,000 visitors from all corners of the globe. The VW Bus enthusiast community will party together, listen to live music, talk shop and camp out for three days – a festival as an expression of an approach to life. Advance sales of the camping tickets begin in just a few days: the pitches can be booked from 12 noon on 15 August 2022. Just like at the legendary 'Bulli Festival' in 2007, the exhibition car parks will become a campsite for more than 6,000 VW camper vans and Microbuses.
The 2007 VW Bus Festival with thousands upon thousands of fans ranks to this day as the greatest VW Bus event ever. An event that was unprecedented at that time in its form and size. In 2023, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is following on in precisely that tradition. Current and historic VW camper vans and Microbus models are equally welcome – from the T1 and all its successors all the way to the new Multivan with plug-in hybrid drive and the completely new ID. Buzz.
'This interaction between all the diverse VW Bus models of all eras is at the soul of the community. We're delighted that 16 years after the last festival, this globally unique automotive phenomena will again be given a stage in 2023', says Lars Krause, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Brand Board of Management Member for Sales and Marketing.
Camping tickets start from 29 euros
VW Bus Festival 2023 can be booked online only at http://www.vw-bus-festival-2023.de.
Camping ticket prices start from 29 euros – for the whole weekend! Included in this is a pitch for a Bus or other VWCV vehicle, free access to the camp site's sanitary facilities and, of course, free access to the festival grounds featuring various exhibitions, a parts market and a large stage with a varied supporting programme. Up to three further people can be added to the booking. And: anyone wanting to book a special area for families can do that too. Applicable rates across the board: children aged up to 6 get in for free. Children and teens aged up to 17 pay just 15 euros for the weekend.
Sales of single-day tickets (without vehicle) will begin at a later date.
To coincide with the ticket sales, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles is starting the communication relating to the festival. Fans are being informed about the start of advance sales on the brand's official social media channels. At classic car meets and selected motor shows festival stickers are much in demand among the Bulli drivers for their own VW camper van or Microbus.

VW Bus clubs have already had the opportunity in advance to register large groups for the festival. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles invited them to do so via press releases and social media. 'The response from the club community was overwhelming', declares Stefan Pfeiffer, Head of Marketing at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles. In just a few days the organising team took more enquiries than there are pitches available in the club area. Anyone not getting a place in the club area is still, of course, able to be at the event via the individual ticket sales process. 'There will be plenty of tickets available for the other pitches when advance sales begin', says Pfeiffer.
