Meanwhile, the Renault Captur E-Tech has scooped the 'Best Small Hybrid Car' award for the second consecutive year. Following its success at last year's DrivingElectric Awards, the Renault Captur E-Tech retained its title at the 2023 ceremony after impressing the popular website's expert judging panel with its attractive blend of efficiency and refinement. Richard Ingram, Editor at DrivingElectric said: 'Hybrid technology used to be the preserve of bigger family cars, but now you can reap the benefits of electrification in a small-car package. The Renault Captur is the best of the bunch; smooth, comfortable and efficient, it's our favourite Small Hybrid Car for 2023.' Guillaume Sicard, Country Head UK & Managing Director Renault Brand UK, added: 'We are delighted to accept this award and even more pleased that it is the second consecutive year that DrivingElectric has chosen to name the Captur E-Tech as the best small hybrid car available. It's an achievement we are very proud of, and it recognises how the Captur provides those considering an electrified car with a great deal of choice and a highly usable solution that suits their own circumstances and preferences.' The Renault Captur E-Tech plug-in hybrid offers the best of both worlds, combining the benefits of an advanced electric drivetrain with the ability to effortlessly handle much longer journeys. It offers a range of up to 30 miles (WLTP) in pure-electric mode and although developing 160hp, can return up to 217.3mpg (WLTP combined) and emit as little as 30g/km CO2. Its usability extends to a full charge from a domestic plug socket being possible in only 4 hours and 15 minutes, with a normal wallbox completing the task in three hours. With no need for plug-in charging, the Renault Captur E-Tech full hybrid benefits those that wish to reduce running costs without changing their driving habits. It provides a fun yet efficient driving experience thanks to its responsive electric motors, fuel economy of up to 60.1 mpg (WLTP combined), and a smooth and silent automatic gearbox. For added peace-of-mind, both full hybrid or plug-in hybrid models come complete with an eight-year (or 100,000) mile battery warranty. Customers can choose from five generously-equipped versions – Evolution, Techno, Rive Gauche Limited Edition, R.S.Line and range-topping E-Tech engineered.
