Bonhams|Cars Achieves White Glove Results At The Greenwich Auction

The first sale as the newly rebranded Bonhams|Cars saw white glove results in Greenwich at W.R Berkley Corporation's waterfront global headquarters on Sunday June 4. The 126-lot sale made a total of $3.87 million with 100% sold by lot.

'We celebrate a successful sale and commemorate the second year of our partnership with Berkley One. A fixture in the Bonhams calendar since 2008, The Greenwich Auction is now firmly established on the waterfront at the W.R. Berkley Headquarters and we are looking forward to continued success in the future,' commented Rupert Banner, Bonhams|Cars, Global Head of Specialists.

'We were thrilled with the turnout this weekend and with our continued partnership with Bonhams|Cars in support of the collector car community,' commented Kathleen Tierney, President of Berkley One.

Cars from the collection of local enthusiast Tom Ferrara proved to be extremely popular, with extensive bidding battles for his low-mileage Ferraris and Corvettes. Generating the top seller of the day was his 2020 Ferrari F8 Tributo, tastefully tailored in its Rosso Barchetta paint and Grigio interior scheme at $342,700. Two Corvettes also offered from the estate were the last examples of their type – the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 Convertible sold for $253,120, and the 2013 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 sold for $137,200. The collection from the Estate of Tom Ferrara realized $1.26 million.

Building on last month's triumph in Newport with the Two Generations Collection, The Greenwich Auction achieved strong results for the 15 additional lots from the 70-year amassed collection by father and son enthusiasts.

Additional highlights of the sale included:

• The 1926 Rolls-Royce Phantom I Enclosed Cabriolet, an exquisitely engineered fully convertible all-seasons car, sold for $128,800.
• The 1969 AC 428 Fastback Coupe, revered for its timeless beauty and commanding presence, fetched an impressive final sale price of $173,600.

• The allure of Italian automotive heritage shone brightly as the 1955 Alfa Romeo 1900C Super Sprint Coupe sold for $159,600.
