• BAC collects not one but two coveted awards including the highly respected Company of the Year Award
•The NAA International Trade Award recognises the pioneering network dealership strategy that has seen BAC expand into 47 markets worldwide
•Established in 2004, the NAA boasts approximately 90 member companies from across the North of England
Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) has secured two major award wins at the 2023 Northern Automotive Alliance (NAA) Awards, including the prestigious Company of the Year title. The technology-driven supercar brand also claimed the NAA's International Trade Award and was highly commended in the Manufacturing Excellence and Logistics Excellence categories, making it a hugely successful outing for the organisation.
At Monterey Car Week in August, BAC unveiled the new Mono, a single-seater supercar that's been carefully developed to be optimal for both on-track and on-road driving experiences.
Launched in 2004, with the support of regional government funding, the NAA is an independent, not-for-profit organisation with 90 member companies from across the North of England. The aim of the NAA is to acknowledge, recognise and celebrate companies that are pioneering the progression of the automotive industry.
The NAA named BAC its Company of the Year having earlier awarded the supercar maker with its International Trade Award, recognising BAC's innovative international sales dealership model that's been underpinned by an expansion into 47 markets around the world.
From its roots in Liverpool, BAC has grown to become a truly global brand, exporting 90% of Mono supercars to markets far and wide, including the USA, Japan, Singapore, Korea and across mainland Europe.
BAC co-founder and director of product development, Neill Briggs, said: 'We are delighted to win not one but two NAA Awards; to have retained the International Trade Award from last year's victory was fantastic for the entire BAC family, but to then be announced the Company of the Year for 2023 is a supremely proud moment for us all. Both NAA Awards are recognition to the ongoing hard work and dedication of the BAC team to make the brand truly global while maintaining our 'one-of-a-kind' design and engineering philosophy.
Paul Jones, chief executive of the NAA, commented 'BAC continues to consistently punch well above its weight on a world stage, with its all-conquering Mono family. It's great to see a local company that not only sources 95% of its components in the UK, but 50% in the North West region, and then exporting 90% of its finished product around the world. BAC is a true success story for the UK's North West automotive sector.'
