Match trim returns to the Volkswagen range

• Match trim available on 10 models including electric vehicles

•Affordable vehicles with generous levels of equipment and options

•Revised trim line-up for electric ID. models

Milton Keynes – Volkswagen, the UK's best-selling new-car brand for the past three years, is bringing back the Match trim line to multiple models across its range as the brand continues to offer affordable vehicles with generous levels of equipment.

Match trims have long appeared in the Volkswagen range, the badge being synonymous with improved specification and great value for money. They are returning now across 10 Volkswagen models including, for the first time, electric vehicles (EVs).

The Polo, T-Cross, Taigo, T-Roc, Tiguan and Touran are all now available in Match trim, adding significant levels of equipment compared with Life (SE Family for Touran)

The news is even better for anyone looking for an electric car: Match trims for the ID.3, ID.4 and ID.5 come with added equipment, but benefit from reduced on-the-road prices. The Match trim now also encompasses the all-new ID.7 offering, to coincide with the arrival of this flagship Volkswagen EV in UK showrooms.

'We have a rich heritage with Match trims, which have always represented great value for money for our customers,' said Rod McLeod, Director of Volkswagen UK. 'Launching them now across 10 models in a variety of segments – including electric – gives people lots of choice and will hopefully help us to build on our success as the UK's best-selling new-car brand.'

New Volkswagen trims at a glance

Internal combustion engine (ICE) models

The Match sits above Life trim for Volkswagen ICE models (SE Family on the Touran). It costs from £175 to £705 more than the lower trim (based on January 2024 prices), but has additional equipment including larger alloy wheels, metallic paint, tinted windows, rear view camera and keyless entry.

Electric vehicles (EVs)

The Match builds on previous derivatives of Volkswagen EVs. It has additional equipment including metallic paint, electric tailgate, exterior pack and assistance pack, but on-the-road prices are reduced by up to around £4,300.

A new entry-level ID.3 Pro Essential trim is also now available for just £35,700 on the road. The new ID.3 Match trims replace the previous Pro and Pro S, and an additional Pro S Essential trim is also now available for £39,190 on the road.

For the ID.4, the Pro Match and Pro 4M Match replace the previous Life and Style trims, and a new entry-level Pure Match trim is available for £42,640 on the road.

The ID.7 Pro Match replaces the previously announced Launch Edition; it adds metallic paint and an exterior pack and is priced £51,550 on the road.
