smart UK has announced the appointment of Jason Allbutt as its new CEO, effective from 19th February. He will report directly to Dirk Adelmann, CEO of smart Europe.
Allbutt joins the award-winning electric vehicle brand from Mercedes-Benz UK where he was the Head of Product and Planning. After joining as a graduate trainee in 1995, previous roles have given him a wealth of commercial and operational experience across the Mercedes-Benz and smart brands.

The incoming CEO is replacing David Browne who is leaving the business having successfully fulfilled his brief to relaunch the brand in the UK and equip it for future success.
With a wealth of operational and commercial experience, Allbutt is ideally equipped to build on smart UK's prior success and lead the next stage of growth, as it launches #3 and continues to accelerate the UK's EV transition with the award winning #1.
