WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca Announces its 2024 Community Events Calendar with a New Star-Studded Addition

WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca is thrilled to unveil its 2024 Community Events Calendar, featuring an exciting line-up of activities that promise to engage and entertain the local community. In addition to returning favorites like Cars and Coffee and Twilight Cycling, the track is introducing a brand-new event for the public – Race to Space.

The popular Cars and Coffee series is back, with four dates for car enthusiasts to mark on their calendars: March 16, June 8, August 31, and December 14. Following the success of last year's format, each event will request a $5 donation for a local cause or non-profit. Kicking off the series, the March 16 event will support the Monterey Center for The Blind and Visually Impaired. As always, the Cars & Coffee will begin at 7:30 a.m. and local Captain + Stoker coffee will be served up for the attendees by Coastal Roots Hospitality

Twilight Cycling, a favorite for the active Monterey scene, is set to return with six event dates now on the calendar. The first event, which defied its name by taking place on a sunny Saturday afternoon this past February 10, proved to be a massive success with CHOMP joining in on the fun. The Community Hospital brought out its 'blender bike' and had a table set up to talk about healthy eating habits and kid's nutrition. Participants were also offered the opportunity of a discounted ticket for the upcoming LifeTime Sea Otter Classic. The next Twilight Cycling on March 15 promises more excitement from 5:30 - 7 p.m. with continued community involvement expected.

Also on March 15, from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Monterey can look forward to a brand-new event at the track. In collaboration with the non-profit Monterey Institute of Research and Astronomy, WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca is introducing Race to Space. This unique community event invites the public to the hospitality island in the lakebed to observe the night sky. Astronomers and telescopes will be on hand to guide the public's viewing experience and answer questions. The inaugural Race to Space is scheduled immediately following Twilight Cycling in hopes some folks will attend both events. Interested persons can look for more information coming soon on WeatherTechRaceway.com or by following the track's social media accounts.

WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca remains committed to supporting local nonprofits, educational institutions, and community-focused organizations. In addition to the announced events, the track will continue its tradition of hosting the Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot, reinforcing its role as a cornerstone of support and community gathering in Monterey County. WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca is proud to play a pivotal role in fostering a sense of community and giving back to the region.
