Isuzu UK is teaming up with the Bobby Moore Fund and some of English football's biggest past and present names for Football Shirt Friday on the 26th of April, to raise awareness about tackling bowel cancer. The charity encourages people to wear their favourite football shirts in an act of unity against the 4th most common form of cancer in the UK.

Marking its 11th year in 2024, and Isuzu's second consecutive year in partnership, Football Shirt Friday is a pivotal initiative of the Bobby Moore Fund, encouraging people to 'Wear, Share and Donate' at https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/isuzu-fc.

More than 9 in 10 people will survive bowel cancer for five years or more if diagnosed at the earliest stage, as opposed to 1 in 10 people at the latest stage. In recognition of the importance of catching the disease early, Isuzu is encouraging all staff from its HQ and dealer network to participate in the campaign under the banner of Isuzu Football Community (Isuzu FC).

In 2023, Isuzu, along with its dealers, raised an impressive £5,020.57. For this year's event, the 'Pick-Up Professionals' are turning up the volume in its efforts to raise awareness about the Bobby Moore Fund by putting up Football Shirt Friday branding around its offices and dealerships, offering themed air fresheners, and Football Shirt Friday cutout boards so all staff members, with or without a football shirt, can equally get involved in the battle against bowel cancer.

Some of the biggest names involved in the Football Shirt Friday 2024 include England Captain and Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane, along with England legends David James, David Seaman, and Izzy Christiansen. Additionally, YouTubers Danny Aarons and Ellis Platten, comedian Maisie Adams, and former Football Focus and Match of the Day presenter Liam MacDevitt are also uniting with the Bobby Moore Fund.

In the build-up to Football Shirt Friday, they all shared their favourite football shirts over the years, Harry Kane electing to choose three sentimental shirts of his first goals for Tottenham, Bayern Munich, and England.

David Seaman, former England and Arsenal goalkeeper, spoke about the importance of the campaign: 'Without this research, finding new treatments is like taking a penalty with a blindfold on, but with research, we can learn more about the opponent and work out how to weaken it. Scientists are making discoveries that will help tackle the disease even before it gets on the pitch.'

George Wallis, Head of Marketing at Isuzu UK, commented: 'We are incredibly proud to be associated with the Bobby Moore Fund and Football Shirt Friday. It is a massive privilege to help contribute to growing the awareness of a great cause. As a brand committed to dependability and overcoming off-road challenges, we need to make a difference in our wider community and tackle key issues such as bowel cancer.'

Following the passing of the 1966 World Cup-winning England Captain Bobby Moore OBE at the age of only 51, the Bobby Moore Fund was founded in 1993 by his wife, Stephanie Moore OBE. The objective of the fund was to finance groundbreaking research to enhance the prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment of bowel cancer. Since the inauguration of the fund, it has raised £30 million, contributing to mortality rates of bowel cancer reducing by 30%.
