The All-New Dacia Spring solidifies its position as a big deal with the game-changing pure-electric supermini winning 'EV Deal of the Century' at the TopGear.com Electric Awards 2024.
The award comes hot on the heels of Dacia's announcement that the five-door hatchback will be priced from £14,995 on-the-road, making it the UK's most affordable new electric car and undercutting its nearest rival by thousands of pounds.
It was not just the All-New Spring's unbeatable value that impressed the expert judging panel though. Dacia's latest model was also praised for its fun drive and the fact that it is the only EV available that tips the scales at under a ton.
Ahead of the opening of official orders, there's still time for car buyers to get an even better deal, too. Those that pre-order the All-New Spring, by placing a £99 deposit via Dacia's website, can get an extra helping of value with a complimentary £250 towards accessories, public charging, or a contribution for a home charger through Mobilize Power Solutions.
Luke Broad, Dacia Brand Director for the UK, said: 'Spring rewrites the EV rulebook. Its price is so competitive that it's one of the UK's most affordable cars full stop, which is even more remarkable when its usability and standard equipment are considered. Add its proven durability, and it's easy to see why TopGear.com single it out as being the best deal of the century.'
The All-New Dacia Spring debuts in the UK in October and will be available in two well-equipped trim levels – Expression or Extreme – and a choice of a 45 hp, or a more powerful 65 hp/48 kW motor. It has a range of up to 137 miles (WLTP mixed cycle) or 186 miles (WLTP urban cycle), and its compact 26.8 kWh battery can be charged from 20% to 100% on a suitable domestic outlet in less than 11 hours, or in just four hours on a 7kW wall box.

Ollie Marriage, Head of Car Testing at TopGear.com, said: 'The £15k Spring isn't just ridiculous value, it's the first electric car to prove that lightness and batteries can go together: all in it weighs 970kg. It's also charming and engaging to drive. It rides softly, rolls lots and makes you smile.'
