Original 'Batmobile No. 3' Among 53 American Pop Culture Cars from the Berkowitz Collection Set to Cross the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction Block

Barrett-Jackson, The World's Greatest Collector Car Auctions, will sell 53 of some of the most iconic vehicles in American pop culture, from the Dr. Stewart Berkowitz Collection during the Scottsdale Auction, January 18-26, 2025, at WestWorld of Scottsdale. The Berkowitz Collection includes original and replica vehicles that appeared in TV series and on the big screen between the 1950s and 1970s, including the original 'Batmobile No. 3' (Lot# 1414). Used in the 1966 'Batman' television series and 1966 film 'Batman: The Movie,' 'Batmobile No. 3' is based on a modified 1966 Ford Galaxie created by George Barris. The entire Berkowitz Collection will cross the block with No Reserve.

Batmobile No. 3 includes a Certificate of Authenticity and is autographed by George Barris, who also designed two golf carts for Hollywood actors Bob Hope and Bing Crosby, which will cross the block in January. Additional authentic vehicles from the collection include The HayWagon Jalopy (Lot #1414.1) used in 'The Beverly Hillbillies' television series that debuted in 1962. The modified 1921 Oldsmobile Model 46 was also used in the 1993 'Beverly Hillbillies' film.

'The vehicles from the Berkowitz Collection represent an iconic period of American pop culture,' said Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. Several vehicles from the Berkowitz Collection are autographed by their respective cast members. The Monkeemobile re-creation (Lot #1415), is as seen in the 1965 television series 'The Monkees,' and is based on a modified 1966 Pontiac GTO and was signed by Monkees members Davy Jones, Peter Tork and Micky Dolenz. The 'Starsky and Hutch' 1976 Ford Gran Torino (Lot #473) was signed by Paul Michael Glaser (Detective Dave Starsky) and David Soul (Detective Ken Hutchinson). Dick Van Dyke, who portrayed Caractacus Potts in the film 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,' signed a brass plate on the 1968 Ford re-creation (Lot #168.1) of the vehicle seen in the 1968 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' film.

The dashboard of the replica 'Back to the Future' DeLorean Time Machine (Lot #785.1) is signed by Christopher Lloyd (Dr. Emmett Brown), and the replica 'Get Smart' car from the popular '60s television series (based on a modified 1965 Sunbeam Tiger), was autographed by Don Adams, who played Maxwell Smart, and Barbara Feldon, who portrayed Agent 99.

• Sheriff Justice's patrol car from the 1977 film 'Smokey and the Bandit' (Lot #166.1)

• The Mystery Machine from TV's 'Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!' (Lot #168)

• The Island Wagon (Lot #156) and the Tattoo Signature Island golf cart from the 1977 'Fantasy Island' (Lot #160)

• Black Beauty from the 1966 'Green Hornet' TV series

• The Mayberry police car with a custom enclosed trailer from TV's 'The Andy Griffith Show'

• The Deathmobile from the film 'National Lampoon's Animal House'

• The Bluesmobile from 'The Blues Brothers' 1980 film
