TANNER FOUST CONFIRMS 2014 COMPETITION DATES• Rockstar Energy Drink driver aims for U.S. title, returns to international racing

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (February 25, 2014)
- Rockstar Energy Drink driver Tanner Foust will be racing for Volkswagen's first Global Rallycross title in 2014. He will also campaign a select season of events on the new FIA World Rallycross Championship.

'My competition focus for the 2014 season is Global Rallycross,' said Foust, adding: 'I'm looking forward to being able to run some international races in the new FIA World Rallycross Championship this year.'

The 10-time X Games rally medalist will campaign for Volkswagen in 2014, racing Global Rallycross and X Games with the new Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross (VARX) team, while pairing with Sweden's Marklund Motorsport for four events in the 2014 FIA World Rallycross Championship.

'Every season, the sport of rallycross steps up its game -- in the United States and in Europe -- and this year is going to be the most competitive yet,' said Foust. 'It's been amazing to be part of rallycross as it has grown over the past few years and I can't wait to get back out there and race in 2014.'

The Rockstar Energy Drink driver is a two-time Global Rallycross champion, who has won four gold medals for X Games motorsport competition. He finished runner-up in the 2013 Global Rallycross championship.

Foust debuted in the sport of rallycross in Europe in 2010 with a partial season and was immediately competitive. He became the first American ever to win an European Rallycross Championship race in 2011 and finished the highly competitive series second in the overall standings that year. Since then, while running select events overseas, Foust has won six rounds and only once missed out on a qualifying spot in the coveted A-Final.

'Integrating a driver as talented as Tanner Foust into our program is going to be incredibly exciting for Marklund Motorsport,' said Marklund Motorsport team owner Jan Marklund. 'Tanner's record behind the wheel is excellent and it will be great to get his thoughts on the development of the car -- especially as we now have our partnership with Volkswagen Motorsport.'
