In Spain, production increased 1.8% year-on-year to 13,026 units. In China, production increased 12.0% year-on-year to 92,765 units, mainly due to increased demand for the Nissan Teana and the Venucia brand models. Production in other regions decreased 5.2% year-on-year to 52,778 units. 2. Sales Global sales increased 0.4% year-on-year to 407,722 units, marking an all-time record for the month of January. Including mini-vehicles, Nissan sold 67,469 units in Japan, up 19.6% year-on-year. In Japan, vehicle registrations in January increased 1.8% year-on-year to 45,022 units. The new Nissan X-Trail, released in December 2013, posted strong sales. Mini-vehicle sales in Japan increased 84.0% year-on-year to 22,447 units, mainly due to strong sales of the Nissan DAYZ. Mini-vehicle sales were an all-time record for the month of January. Sales outside of Japan decreased 2.7% year-on-year to 340,253 units. Sales in the U.S. increased 11.8% year-on-year to 90,470 units, an all-time sales record for the month, mainly due to higher demand for the Nissan Rogue and Frontier. Sales in Mexico increased 2.3% year-on-year to 21,718 units, marking an all-time sales record for the month of January. Nissan has been the sales leader in Mexico for 56 consecutive months. In Europe, sales increased 4.1% year-on-year to 49,412 units, mainly due to increased sales in Russia. Although there was increased demand for the Nissan Teana, sales in China decreased 0.4% year-on-year to 95,208 units due to the fewer number of operating days. Sales in other regions decreased 3.3% year-on-year to 76,959 units. 3. Japan Exports Nissan's exports in January decreased 12.6% year-on-year to 32,737 units.
