FDA – A good test for Fuoco

Company press release.

FDA – A good test for FuocoMaranello, 9 April –A two day test session ended today at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria, for competitors in the FIA F3 European Championship. It was the second of these test sessions and Antonio Fuoco, driving for the Prema team, was one of 27 youngsters taking part in this last test prior to the start of the season. The first race takes place over the 19/20 April at Silverstone circuit. The Ferrari Driver Academy student completed 167 laps, setting the eighth fastest time of the two days in 1.24.504.

'The test went well,' said Fuoco. 'After last week's session at the Hungaroring, the engineers have worked very hard and the results of their efforts could be seen on track. My pace in race trim means I'm optimistic and my lap times also improved. This morning, on new tyres, I made a mistake and spun. Then in the afternoon, my best lap, which turned out to be my quickest of the test, was set on good tyres, but not brand new ones. I could have done better, but at least I've been able to familiarise myself with a track that I had only driven briefly in a Formula Renault test. I could remember the corners, but at the wheel of a Formula 3 car this circuit seemed very different!'
