E.J. VISO HEADLINES NEW DRIVERS FOR ROUND NO. 3 AT GRAND PRIX OF LONG BEACH

Company press release.

E.J. VISO HEADLINES NEW DRIVERS FOR ROUND NO. 3 AT GRAND PRIX OF LONG BEACHLong Beach, Calif. (April 12, 2014) – Venezuela's E.J. Viso, an IndyCar driver with six Indianapolis 500 starts to his credit including a fourth-place start at last year's 500-miler, will join a field of trucks Sunday at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach for the third round of the 2014 SPEED Energy Formula Off-Road Presented by Traxxas series.

Viso and his Citgo-sponsored Traxxas truck will join two other drivers making their debut in the Stadium Super Trucks including Bradley Morris in the K&N Filters truck and Nick Vanis in the IconWrap.com truck.

They join series regulars including Scott Steele, Apdaly Lopez, Jerett Brooks, Gavin Harlien, Sheldon Creed and series president Robby Gordon in the field.

The noon Sunday race, which will air on NBCSN on May 1 at 10:30 p.m. PST, is the series' second trip to the Long Beach Grand Prix, where NASCAR driver Justin Lofton took the win last year. The Southern California race is a big event for the young series, with all driver's other than Viso claiming the Southwest as home. Long Beach is also a home race for series' sponsors Toyo Tire and Magnaflow.

SPEED Energy Formula Off-Road Presented by Traxxis' first two rounds were polar opposites two weeks ago at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg. In the first race veteran Gordon was the unsurprising winner in a driving rainstorm on the 1.8-mile street circuit, as driver after driver took turns at the front of the field only to make mistakes on the slick circuit. PJ Jones, driving the American Racing Wheels truck, captured the second round with a solid drive in ideal conditions.

The Traxxas trucks' race at the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg will air April 17 at 10 p.m. PST on NBCSN and will feature Brian Till and IndyCar veteran Robby Buhl handling play-by-play and color commentary respectively.

The Stadium Super Trucks that will race at Long Beach Sunday will hit huge man-made ramps at more than 100 mph at multiple locations throughout the sea-side street circuit hurling drivers nearly 20 feet in the air and 150 feet down course. Gordon created the series to bring the excitement of Baja-style desert racing to large crowds of race fans.

The exciting 2013 race at Long Beach was the introduction of the off-road trucks to pavement races, and fan reaction at Long Beach was the impetus for other road races including Toronto in 2013. This season the series will race seven times on pavement, plus the Sand Sport Super Show in Orange County, Calif., and on a course that will feature both dirt and asphalt at X Games Austin. Follow the identically prepared 600-hp trucks all season long at stadiumsupertrucks.com and watch live video streams from Long Beach on Sunday at noon EST.

ABOUT THE SERIES

· Watch it Live: Catch a feed of the SPEED Energy Formula Off-Road Presented by Traxxas race from Long Beach live at www.stadiumsupertrucks.com at noon (PST) Sunday, April 13. The full race broadcast will be May 2 at 10:30 p.m. PST.

· St. Petersburg Grand Prix SST race will be on NBCSN Thursday night (April 17) at 10 p.m. PST

· The Race: The SPEED Energy Formula Off-Road Presented by Traxxas in conjunction with the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach is the second weekend of racing for the series in 2014. Rounds 1 and 2 were contested with the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg

· The series was founded by former NASCAR and IndyCar driver Robby Gordon.

· Series Name: The series was rebranded as the SPEED Energy Formula Off-Road Presented by Traxxas to reflect the unique ability of the Stadium Super Trucks to compete on any racing surface at virtually any venue. Founded at the Stadium Super Truck Series, 'Formula' and 'Off-Road' better reflect the unique abilities of the trucks and drivers. Traxxas, the Fastest Name in Radio Control and the No. 1-selling Ready-to-Race® (RTR) nitro and electric Radio Control (R/C) company with vehicles in the truck, car, boat and helicopter categories, became presenting sponsor at the beginning of 2014.

· Correctly identifying SST: Stadium Super Trucks (SST) compete in the SPEED Energy Formula Off-Road Series Presented by Traxxas, just as Silver Crown cars compete in USAC or Cup cars compete in NASCAR.

· All about SPEED: SPEED Energy Drink was created by and is owned by Robby Gordon. The vitamin energy drink which is a healthy choice in the category, is available in four flavors – Fuel, Unleaded, Octane and Ethanol – at select retail locations across the country. Visit www.speedenergy.com for a retail locator or to purchase SPEED Energy on the internet.

· Competition Caution: A full course competition caution will occur approximately half-way in the race to allow the field to tighten up for a sprint to the finish. Should a full-course caution be necessary prior to halfway, it will serve as the completion caution, at the discretion of USAC. The initial start of the race will be a standing start with five rows of two, and any restarts during the race will be double-file rolling restarts.

· What Debris?: Unlike most other racing series, debris, and even the occasional rolled-over truck, doesn't normally bring out a full-course caution. If determined by USAC all competitors and spectators are outside of harm's way, racing will continue and a local caution will be displayed to identify the issue.

· We don't need no stink'n spotters!: No spotters allowed. USAC and race control can communicate with all drivers over one frequency and no spotters are permitted. Therefore, if one driver receives a message from USAC, all drivers receive the same message. Drivers are unable to radio back to race control and are expected to comply with all directives without the benefit of debate.

· The Toughest Tires: Toyo Tires is the official tire of the series and all competitors race on the same size and specification of DOT approved tires and no modifications have been made or are permitted. The same Toyo Tires are available at local retail tire stores.

· Last Time Out in St. Petersburg: No. 7 Robby Gordon, driving the SPEED Energy/Traxxas truck, survived a wild and unpredictable round 1 in the rain on the street course at the St. Petersburg Grand Prix. At one time or another, all drivers in the field spun in the slick conditions. In the second race, No. 98 PJ Jones, driving the American Racing Wheels truck, won his second of the last three SST races by holding off Gordon and Sheldon Creed in perfect conditions.

· The Series Schedule: After the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, the series heads to Indianapolis, Detroit, Austin, Texas (X Games Austin), Toronto, Orange County, Calif., San Diego and the season-finale in Las Vegas.

· Television and Tickets: All SPEED Energy Formula Off-Road Presented by Traxxis races are televised. ESPN will broadcast X Games Austin live on June 8, while all other races will be shown on NBCSN at dates and times available by visiting www.stadiumsupertrucks.com.

· Ticket information for all events is also available on the series' web site.
