◾New systems for crash avoidance or mitigation ◾New requirements, standards, regulations, consumer tests◾Pre-crash, in-crash and post-crash accidentology and aspects in the light of safety ◾Crashworthiness and occupant protection ◾Functional safety, engineering methodology and software architecture ◾Protection of vulnerable road users A special session will also take place on 5 June, organised by the European project PROS: Towards a Global Strategic Research Agenda for Road Safety. The session will present the priorities identified in PROS, discuss future opportunities of global research cooperation in this field and explore the potential of a global road safety research agenda. Dr. Bernd E. Gottselig, Ford-Werke GmbH will present his work on the topic: Global Safety Regulations as part of the PROS special session.
