VOLKSWAGEN ANDRETTI RALLYCROSS TEAM SEEKS SUCCESS AT INAUGURAL VOLKSWAGEN RALLYCROSS DC

Herndon, VA — The Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross team is preparing for another exciting weekend at the third round of the Red Bull Global Rallycross Championship at Volkswagen Rallycross DC. This race will be particularly exciting for the team, because many of the fans cheering the cars and drivers on will be from the Volkswagen Group of America headquarters in Herndon, VA, near to the nation's capital. 'We have strong momentum going into the Volkswagen Rallycross DC event. Coming off two wins in Barbados and X Games Austin, we are well-ahead in the points hunt,' said Scott Speed, driver of the No. 77 7UP Volkswagen. 'We will continue to focus and make sure the 7UP Volkswagen pushes to the front of the pack.' While Speed has been at the top of the podium in the first two races of the Red Bull Global Rallycross season, Tanner Foust, driver of the No. 34 Rockstar Energy Drink Volkswagen has had a tough start with incidents in Barbados and X Games Austin. He will be seeking to turn his season around at the event. 'I went to high school in Washington, D.C., so this is as much of a hometown race as it can get. With so much Volkswagen fan support, it will be doubly so,' said Foust. 'I'll have a lot of great friends and family at the track supporting the Volkswagen Andretti Rallycross team.' 'With two wins in a row, Volkswagen had a fantastic start into the season' said Jost Capito, Director of Volkswagen Motorsport. 'We were the hunter, now we are the hunted.
