• Camp Boggy Creek, Austin Hatcher Foundation To Split Donation

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Sept. 15, 2014) – The International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) today committed to donate $50,000 to be split evenly between Camp Boggy Creek and the Austin Hatcher Foundation, both of which have been designated 'Proud Charities of IMSA.' Both charities had long-term relationships with GRAND-AM Road Racing and the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón which were 'proudly' carried forward with IMSA.

'Through events like 'IMSA Day' at Camp Boggy Creek and the weekly at-track event auctions and hospital visits hosted by the Austin Hatcher Foundation, both programs have used motorsports as a platform to raise awareness for and help provide for children with serious illnesses,' said David Pettit, IMSA Vice President, Marketing. 'We are honored to be able to contribute to and support the continued success of these cause-related programs.'

Camp Boggy Creek, founded by Academy Award-winning actor and accomplished sports car racer Paul Newman, makes it possible for children with serious illness to enjoy a traditional camp experience in a safe, medically-sound environment at NO cost to their families. The world-class camp serves children ages 7-16 who have been diagnosed with chronic or life-threatening conditions such as cancer, sickle cell anemia, heart disease, arthritis, and bleeding disorders.

The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer delivers its therapies and specialized services nationwide, with the ultimate goal of erasing the effect of pediatric cancer for patients, survivors and their families. The Foundation provides many of its services at no cost to children with cancer as well as their families through its cancer care center, Hatch's House of Hope.
