Don Swearingen Promoted to EVP of Mitsubishi Motors Sales

Cypress, California, August 15, 2013 -- Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc., (MMNA) has announced the following organizational changes:

Don Swearingen has been promoted to Executive Vice President, responsible for Vehicle Sales, Fixed Operations, and CRM functions, reporting to President and CEO Yoichi Yokozawa. 'Over the past 16 years Don has exhibited solid business acumen and leadership abilities while successfully building a strong Fixed Operations and CRM team,' said Yokozawa. 'I am confident that he will make our organization stronger and ensure our current sales momentum continues to achieve the sales and business goals we have in front of us.'

Swearingen has held many key leadership positions with Mitsubishi Motors, beginning in 1995. Most recently he has served as the company's Vice President of Fixed Operations. Swearingen had more than 19 years automotive experience prior to joining MMNA, including time at Chrysler Corp., Toyota Motor Sales, Hyundai Motor America and Kia Motor America.

'Mitsubishi Motors already has great, quality products and impressive internal talent,' said Swearingen. 'In this time of growth and change for Mitsubishi, and as we prepare for our new model launches, we must stay focused on strengthening our brand and continuing to improve our customer care,' he added.

Mark Chaffin, has been promoted to Vice President of Fixed Operations responsible for Parts and Service, and will report directly to Don Swearingen. Chaffin joined MMNA in 2007 as Director of Parts Operations and has been instrumental in developing a reorganization plan for the Parts Division to help improve parts sales market penetration, accessory sales growth, operational efficiency, and profitability. He also worked for Mazda Motor North America and Kia Motor America during a 25 year automotive career.
