Maserati Trofeo Mc World Series Returns To Sonoma After Successful Debut Of Ghibli Sedan Over Pebble Beach Weekend  Englewood Cliffs, NJ, August 21, 2013- Maserati is proud to announce that the Maserati GranTurismo MC Trofeo World Series will make its North American stop for a second year at Sonoma Raceway the weekend of August 21st. Last year, famed actor and accomplished race driver Patrick Dempsey and top stuntman, and Hot Wheels X Games Double Loop World Record holder, Greg Tracy competed in the GranTurismo MC Trofeo to the delight of thousands of fans in attendance. Thanks to the success of last year, the entire field of cars in this 'Arrive and Drive‟ series were sold out and the grid is full and ready to bring the famed roar of Maserati racing back to Northern California.

Maserati is busy a second straight weekend after the successful US debut of the Ghibli sport sedan over the Pebble Beach weekend. A brand new 15,000 square foot display just steps from the Lodge at Pebble Beach was the centrepiece of the Trident brands extensive outreach activities. In addition to the Ghibli and the all new Quattroporte sedan, the sixth Quattroporte ever built in 1963, fresh from a full restoration, joined a 1961 3500 GTI, the first Italian car to offer fuel injection on its race-derived 6 cylinder engine. These pillars of the Gran Tursimo tradition joined the full line of modern Maserati cars.

According to Bob Graczyk, President of Maserati North America, Inc., 'The favorable attention the Ghibli continues to generate is as special as the car itself. This past weekend presented the first opportunity for thousands of Maserati clients, prospects and admirers to see, feel and of course hear this wonderful new sport sedan within the full line of Maserati cars on display. In a year when we have also launched the new flagship Quattroporte, and look forward to our Centennial in 2014, we could not be more proud of the Trident brand. We look forward to many more events which allow us to share the Maserati experience.'

Dominated by a long, powerful nose and a concave Trident grille a clear link is created to both current and historic Maseratis. The newly-developed direct-injection engine family boasts a 523 hp/ 524 lb-ft 3.8-litre V8 and an All-Wheel-Drive 404 hp/ 410 lb-ft 3.0-litre V6, each with eight-speed automatic transmission developed with ZF.
