RENAULT TO ENJOY STRONG PRESENCE WITH BARC AT AUTOSPORT INTERNATIONAL

Renaultsport's prowess on road and racetrack will be a feature of the 2014 Autosport International Show, which takes place at the NEC in Birmingham between Thursday, 9th January, and Sunday, 12th January, when the brand's flagship range forms part of the British Automobile Racing Club stand.
Taking pride of place alongside the new Clio Renaultsport 200 Turbo EDC on stand 7430 will be the newly face-lifted Mégane Renaultsport 265, the latter making its first appearance in the UK during all four days of the annual motorsport and motoring extravaganza.
Renault UK's premier national motor racing championship, the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship-supporting Renault UK Clio Cup, will be represented by the brand new turbo-charged fourth generation racing Clio loaned by the first UK customer and Renault stalwart Finley Crocker.
The Michelin Clio Cup Series will also have a presence on the BARC stand with one of the normally aspirated 2.0-litre previous generation racing Clios, showcasing Renault's newly formed saloon car racing ladder which can now take a driver all the way from grass roots competition to the UK's biggest motorsport package.
Additionally, Renault UK's sensational junior single-seater heritage will be represented on the stand by the FR 2.0 and FR 1.6.
'Autosport International is widely regarded as the true start of the new motorsport year and we're delighted Renault and its championships will be represented so strongly on the BARC stand', said Renault UK Communications Director Jeremy Townsend, 'We're very grateful to Ian Watson and his team at the BARC and, of course, looking forward to working closely with them at the show.
'Not only will visitors to the NEC be able to see our brand new racing Clio alongside the other cars which form our core motorsport involvement, they will also be the first to see the refreshed Mégane Renaultsport 265 which now shares the same identity as the new Clio Renaultsport 200 Turbo EDC.'
As well as the aforementioned breadth of Renaultsport cars, the brand will also feature strongly elsewhere at Autosport International with the awe-inspiring Twizy Renaultsport F1 making its show debut as part of the Performance French Cars stand.

One of Renaultsport's most iconic creations, the Clio Renaultsport V6 255, will appear on the PistonHeads stand as part of the 'PH Heroes' display while Renault's involvement in the brand new FIA Formula E Championship will be showcased with the ground-breaking Spark-Renault chassis taking pride of place on the Alcon stand. 'We're very excited the Twizy Renaultsport F1 will be making an appearance, it's an incredible, eye-opening creation', added Townsend, 'Along with the legendary Clio Renaultsport V6 255 and the Spark-Renault Formula E car, there will certainly be plenty to enjoy for Renaultsport fans.' Driver registrations for the 2014 Renault UK Clio Cup, as well as those for the Michelin Clio Cup Race Series and Road Series and Protyre Formula Renault Championship, opened last week and organisers will be accepting completed entries for each category at Autosport International. Following the trade-only days on Thursday, 9th January, and Friday, 10th January, the Autosport International doors will open to the public on Saturday, 11th January, and Sunday, 12th January, between 09.00 and 18.00 each day.
