1935 Bugatti Type 57 Navigation
This Bugatti Type 57 was ordered by Wilson McConnell, a Canadian newspaper publisher, and significant philanthropist from Quebec. The rolling chassis was delivered to Bugatti's London agent, Colonel Sorel, on December 12th, 1934. In 1936 McConnell had the car updated with a Scintilla Vertex magneto and a 1936 inlet manifold. McConnell passed away in 1962, but the car remained in his estate until it was purchased in 1977 by its current owner. The car was first shown at Pebble Beach in 1984 when it took First in Class in the prewar European Classic class. Since then, the Type 57 has been on several Bugatti rallies and Classic Car Club Caravans and has completed the 2019 Pebble Beach Motoring Classic tour from Seattle to Pebble Beach.
