This car was converted to SCCA racing in the late 1960s or early 1970s. It went through four owners until it was put away in 1992. It was purchased by the current owner in 1995 when it was updated to the current G-Production rules. From 1995 until 2006, it was continually improved upon and updated to run in regional and national competition events with SCCA. In 2006 it was decided that it was time to restore the car back to its original configuration and go vintage racing. It is currently used in vintage SCCA and HMSA events.
This car competed in the Olympia Sprints and other races in the 1970s, mostly in the San Francisco region. In 1980, under the ownership of a local San Francisco driver, it qualified and was run yearly at the Pacific Coast Road Race of Championships (PCRRC), the Rose Cup, and Riverside International Raceway.
The current owner began running the national races in 1998. The car qualified for the National Runoffs in 2000 through 2004 for the PCRRC from 1999 thru 2003, and the Western States Championships in 2004. It has been a competitor at the Rose Cup, Phoenix International, Mid-Ohio, Thunderhill, Laguna Seca, Buttonwillow, Infineon (Sears Point), and Las Vegas with 26 wins and 54 podium finishes in the 79 races from 1998 until its restoration.Source - Vehicle Owner
