Wood grain-applied trim was used almost exclusively on station wagons. It was rare to see that trim, which was referred to as 'yacht paneling', on a passenger car. This is one of only 15 Mercurys built in 1968 with that trim.
The Park Lane series featured a newly-designed instrument panel for 1968 as well as new exterior trim touches that included full-length tire level moldings, wheel well 'lips' and three slanted trim panels on the roof quarter panels.
Power was supplied by an overhead valve V-8 that developed 315 horsepower from 390 cubic-inches. Only 1,112 Mercury Park Lane convertibles were built in 1968.
