1955 Studebaker President Navigation
This Studebaker President Speedster was built in South Bend, Indiana. (The President series had returned after a 13-year absence.) It is painted in an authentic, special factory color combination with a matching yellow leather interior.
This Speedster is powered by a 259 cubic-inch Studebaker V-8 that produces 185 horsepower. The Golden Hawk also featured an Ultra-matic transmission, which resulted in a very fast car. Priced new at $3,253, this was one of Studebaker's most expensive offerings for 1955.
Among the significant technical improvements were Safety-Fin brake drums (for extra brake cooling); self-tightening wheel bolts; padded dash and padding on the rear of the front seat; and 'Hill Holder,' which prevented rolling back on hills.
