1909 Pierce-Arrow Model 36 Runabout

This Pierce-Arrow 36 HP Model UU has a history going back to the 1940s when its chassis was discovered on Long Island. After some years with interim coachwork, it was restored in 2002 with this exacting re-creation of Pierce-Arrow's cataloged Runabout coachwork. This was the pre-World War I vision of a sports car: low, elemental, powerful, and responsive. Right-hand drive, like all proper automobiles of the time, is awash in bright work. Everything from the brass radiator, copper-plated Rushmore acetylene headlights, brass solar kerosene sidelights, bold eagle radiator mascot, steeply raked copper steering column and drum-style speedometer to the hood's copper-plated highlights. It is a superb and very fast touring car, which has been driven extensively since restoration.
