1911 Cadillac Model 30 Navigation
The introduction of the all-new Cadillac Model Thirty in August 1908 marked the beginning of an important chapter in Cadillac's history. The meticulously engineered, moderately priced Model Thirty was Cadillac's bread-and-butter car for the next six years; bridging the gap between the comparatively primitive single-cylinder Cadillac and the industry's first mass-produced V-8. Incidentally, 1909 also marked the year that Cadillac became a division of General Motors. The car got its name from the 30hp produced by its 4-cylinder engine, though it was officially rated at 25.6hp. Cadillac sold 10,109 vehicles in 1911.
This 1911 Cadillac Model 30 4-door with Southern Tread, features an additional four-inch width to accommodate the wagon ruts on southern roads.
The car was sold new to a doctor in Columbia, SC. The current owner's father became the 4th owner of this vehicle after the 3rd owner restored it in the late 1950s and sold it in 1963.
The owners toured with the car until 1981 when it started having engine problems. It stayed parked until June 2010 when the current owner started restoring it. The restoration was completed in October 2011.
